The first might have been a bit unlucky for Song. It wasn't unlucky for Arsenal. It was a ball clipped in at no pace, there was no attacking player applying pressure, and we didn't deal with it proactively. There was Song, and another defender a bit in front of him, and one of them should have come out to attack the ball. You let a ball like that just drop in and it can take a bad deflection like that.

Good midfield performance with Arteta and Song doing well.

I think we will sort out the defense. Two very unlucky own goals, offside goal and a wicked finish. It must be Arsenal, it has to get better soon!!

How were the own goals unlucky? The 2nd one especially...great play from the Blackburn player meant he couldnt do anything to stop it, it was forced on him..thats nothing to do with luck.
The 1st one was completely random. The 2nd one wasn't forced. He wasn't cutting out a cross that would have been tapped in by a forward putting pressure on him. I think Koscienly thought the GK would have got it so didn't expect it to get to him. Poor from Koscienly and he should defend like the ball was coming through to him but it wasn't inevitable.

    So not unlucky..

Wow 3 wins in 16 and a total of 16 points...thats relegation form for nearly half a season, i didnt realise it was that bad.

What changes would you gooners like to see to try and change it around ? how long do you think this might take....surley you cant really finish outside the top 6.

    Shocked

    With Wenger in charge?

The 'offside' was too close to call mate. If any doubt the advantage should always go to the attacker. Good refreeing IMO.
We regularly have bouts of solidity on defense when the attack is sorted. Wenger is focusing on the midfield and attack right now it seems as we were suffering from a chronic lack of creativity and goals. If that side gets sorted quick which looks like it might happen, then he should get the defense sorted soon. Its bad management from Arsenal FC that they can't work on both at the same time. We do need a Director of football who will appoint an strong minded defensive coach alongside Wenger. Wenger has too much responsibility in every aspect of club management, it needs to change.

Conceding 4 to Blackburn may push Wenger to deal with a defense over the attack first which would be a good thing. We'll see.

Whilst our attack has been ridiculously overrated over the years, our main achilles hills has always been our defence or I should say how we defend as a team. Even Wenger has more or less aknowledged this in each of the past 3 summers. So tightening the back should have been the absolute priority this season. You don't lose if u don't concede, but as we've seen today, u can even score 3 goals aways from home and lose a match if u don't defend well. You build from the back, u don't build a house by starting with the roof.

Anyway, I don't have any faith in Wenger sorting out our defence(hopes he proves me wrong), so we should bring in someone just as u say.

Could be about 2-2 this game. Wide open in midfield at times. Be surprised if it stays 1-0.

Our team has no idea how to slow things down and keep the ball for a bit. All very hasty & direct which is just asking Newcastle to come back again and again. It's lucky Newcastle are not a very efficient attacking force, 'cause they've had enough possession and openings to score 3 or 4.
