he scored 14 goals last season. remember he is a CM, thats more than a french many ever managed in a single season.
he also won everything that zidane has a club level times two.
I did not know these things

77 goals 95 assist
Zidane could do everything xavi could and more, NOT
Where'd you get those stats? Mundo Deportivo says that Xavi has 48 career goals.
That's must be for la liga only, I Got it from espn website.
Assist are such a hard thing to find good stats on, I remember the debate about messi's assist numbers last season, but soccernet tend to be in the right ball park.
11/12=12
10/11=14
09/10=19
08/09=34(record 20 in la liga)
07/08=8
06/07=5
05/06=1
Stopped their and you know their is more before that.

MD got the goals from wiki thats la liga only, they only looked at the top of the page

bluenine wrote:Sure, Iniesta is elegant... and a brilliant player. But he is no where near Zidane in class. Zizou was a genius, u he made us believe that the Trequatista will survive modern football without losing the magic.
Just the fact that you are comparing Iniesta to Zizou makes me wonder whether people are over-rating Iniesta a bit... If Zizou was playing for this Barca, then he would ve made Messi look like a peer, and Xavi look like supporting cast. Thats how good I think Zizou was...

you don't half talk a lot of shit
if xavi is so awesome how come it took the development of tiki-takenaccio to get the best out of him? To me he seesm to be awesome in this system only, and I question his adaptability
Why for example can he not adapt to play alongside a superior passer player like alonso at national level (instead of the gary busquets he has to put up with at club level)?

That's all that matters.
Sort of. Xavi had a good season in the first season when Ronaldinho arrived but after that he took a backseat when Deco arrived and declined quite a bit to the big low point in 07/08 when he seemed finished and Barcelona fans were right to want him out of the team. He was that poor by that time. Xavi's great period for me has been since Pep came to the club.Deluded F*ck wrote:Xavi only started being recognised as one of the best CMs when Ronaldinho arrived.
