This seems to come down to you thinking Gerrard is the outstanding midfielder, in the way that Suarez is the outstanding forward, we differ on that, and i'm sorry but you will have live with that, I can tell it's going to keep you away, someone out there not wanting to guzzzle Stevie G.

Far more than you've seen Mutch play. Have you seen much of Mutch, apart from in March?  Very Happy

This thread is about team of the season and who has played well enough to be in it.  I can live with you hating Gerrard while he has been one of the best players to ever play in the EPL, this season being one of his best. Liverpool has been the best team, and gerrard has been their 2nd best player.

This whole thing was triggered by me making a snide comment and you trying to justify your team. You were bothered by my comment, far more than I was bothered by your team. I just thought typical kimbo when I saw it.

You just called Cabaye the French Kevin Nolan, stop deflecting, how are they so similar?

I'm not sure you can claim Liverpool have been the best side yet, Man City have won more points per game.

I was trying to think of a mediocre midfielder who commits a lot of fouls and scores a few goals. Their style is not exactly the same, but it is a lot harder to match mediocre players than I thought. Would you have preferred the french Charlie Adam?

Liverpool have been the best team, man city have the best individual players who can win the game even when they haven't played well as a team. Plus, of course, the real reason man city are where they are is the favours they've received from refs, far more than the other challengers.

You could say that, one is a deep lying play maker and the other is a box player.  Laughing

You can compare Cabaye to Adam and Nolan if you want, it makes you look silly.

You said Gerrard is playing as a defensive midfielder, does that make him Makelele?
