    With Papiss, anything is possible.

My Ideal Scenario - Newcastle and Spurs to win their last 2 games.

Arsenal to bottle it in one match.

Man Utd to lose 1 of their last matches.

    Final table:

    1 Man City 86
    2 Man Utd 86
    3 Tottenham 71
    4 Newcastle 71
    5 Arsenal 69

Bayern to win the CL Ale

You will struggle to ignite a Liverpool/Newcastle rivalry. ALL Liverpool fans love Newcastle. One grumpy Geordie won't change that.

So I don't mean to wind you up but what if you end up finishing in the bottom half of the table with only the Carling Cup and Newcastle finish 4th? (both actual possibilities)

we've had this conversation a few times, the general consensus is that 17th + a cup > 5th.

this season has been awesome, not for Liverpool but generally. We have a genuine title race, a side in the CL final, 4 sides battling for the last 2 CL spots and relegation looks to be going down to the last day.

If Newcastle qualify for the CL it will definitely be a better season than Liverpool's, but wherever they finish they have had a brilliant season while Liverpool will have underachieved.

Surely if you are having a shot you bend it out of the keepers reach, you don't hit it towards the middle of the goal with the aim to swerve away at the last moment. It was a cronaldo type of shot when he just hits it as hard as he can in the general direction of the goal. A great shot but goes wrong most of the time and where it will end up is anyone's guess. I preferred the first goal as well.

Nah. Cronaldo is a toe-poking conte. All his long range goals are hit n hope. Look at his shot conversion ratio. Especially from outside the box, Pathetic.

Look at Cisse's, it's the best in the league. One of the best in Europe. He uses his laces, his sidefoot, outside the boot with measured grace, intelligence & technique. Not a pure 'hitnhope' like Polariod, no.

Not at all. Really and truthfully, we should've killed third a couple weeks ago.

Our midifield has no balance at the moment and we only have RVP to score our goals.

Oh almost definitely, and more so - Cisse hasn't been playing long enough to generate too many agendas.

Hey Fadey, you're aware we have had to play City at home and Everton away too right? Not sure it would be fair if you got to play Villa/Fulham three times, that's not how it works Laughing Whoever finishes 3rd/4th will have done so playing the same fixtures.

And Jol gifting us points?? You mustn't remember how he was treated by Levy.

Anyway, agree with TS, in a sexy little dreamworld we both finish top 4, Arsenal bottle it, Chelsea lose to Bayern. That'd put a flame under the Premier League's bumhole Ale

Though Gallas is a legend, I always liked/supported Colo more despite him being Argie. 0-1
BAE is as french as Ba. 1-2
Lot of Metz connections. Adebayor,Saha vs Cisse 3-3
    Obertan is -1 though. 3-2
But where is your Cabaye, HBA? Spurs 3-4 Newcastle. And then for every Modric, Vdv, King you have Arry, Bale & Parker. And I hadn't even touched on awesomeness that is Shola, Krul, Santon, Tiote..

As for history, Newcastle's been more exciting & had so many ups and downs for two decades, from playing champagne football to being utterly hopeless, new owner facing revolt & then redemption, making great names of relatively unknown, failures of established Dutch cocks (Kluivert, Gullit), Ginola-Robert-HBA.

SJP/Barcode jersey - so very unique unlike cock on balls white jerseys & so very small white hart lane with faggotty songs. Gimme those beers & beer bellies any day of the week!

We've never been a constant. Spurs will always be Spurs. Utterly middle-class team. Very Happy

TO DARE IS TO DO is our Motto. We are never boring! How dare you.

From Irving Scholar sending the club bust in the 80's to Ricky Villa vs Man City, winning the UEFA Cup on penalties, nearly winning it all in 1987 with a uber-sexy midfield 5 (unique in Britain at the time) and Clive Allen scoring 49 goals. Always been a club for technical magicians like Hoddle, Waddle, Ardiles, Villa, Gazza, Sheringham, Anderton, Ginola, Berbatov... and Robbie Keane Razz

The Venables & Sugar fall-out, being deducted 15 points in 1992-93, Ozzie's infamous 5-0-5 formation, Klinsmann goals and even better celebrations (QF winner at anfield is my fave) , Christian Gross, a returning Jurgen and Ginola saving us from the drop in 1998, winning the league cup with 10 men the next year (ALLEN NIELSEN!) The initial joy of bringing Hoddle back, the horror of what a disaster it was, more false dawns than polar night, Santini leaving us after 6 games, the mini renaissance under Jol, back in European footy, sacking Jol for Ramos even though it was aginst the fans wishes, beating Chelsea at Wembley, the disaster of the 2008 summer transfer window, 2 pts from 8 games to CL qualification in 18 months, beating Arsenal (Gomes triple save!) Chelsea and Man City along the way... Nearly fucked it up agains a side called Young Boys, 29 total goals in our 6 group stage matches... Bale's hatty in the San Siro even though the game was lost, beating both Milan teams (Gomes Save from Yepes!) QFs in our debut CL year. Epic comeback at the Emirates, got to play Real Madrid twice (which I thought would only happen in a friendly!), all whilst watching for the most part gung-ho, naive football.

Cisse is magnifique. So is Cabaye. Unbelievably subtle 2 man midfield domination when he & Tiote play together. HBA worked a lot & made Perch look comfortable against Chelsea's wide players & FBs , so no excuse for Pardew to play TWF Obertan vs City now that he's back.

Haven't seen a brilliant brace of goals in PL since days of Bergkamp, Shearer..

Perch has been solid these last few months, I'd even go as far to say we should keep him around. Shocked Also Santon is incredible for a 21 year old, Sunderland fans insist on calling him a flop. scratch He will be one of the best in the league next season.

Perch's problem has been pace, but he makes up for it with reading the situation better. Simpson has pace, but he is Walcott of FB's! I'm still not comfortable with either. And we need to buy CB. Can't rely on Williamson. Taylor isn't CL quality. Santon is in deed brilliant. But he still gave the ball away cheaply that led to quick counter. That made me even more furious than Pardew.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, going from rock bottom of the league to beating European Champions Inter Milan 3-1 at home in less than 18 months not fluctuate enough? Not just beating them, pulling their pants down and spanking them silly, with Bale utterly destroying the reputation of the best right back in the World in 90 minutes.

Granted, we've never been relegated so you win the lows. However, the only thing Newcastle have managed "higher" than us in the last 40+ years is lead the league in 1996 and eventually finish 2nd.

    So pipe down! Grr

Massive game on sunday, its going to be tough but we have to believe in ourselves, we've won at U*d and Spurs amongst others away this season so hopefully we can get the result. Im shitting it already and just want to get there now. Im heading up tomorrow for the weekend, it should be a class few nights on the toon. If we win we would be so close to the title and it would be incredible but a defeat would pretty mucg end it all. We've come back so well when it all looked lost, please let us finish the job.
