How long do you reckon it'll be before Adebayor causes some unrest if he keeps not playing him?

I expect to see Ade on Thursday - he's off the pace atm, and AVB says he will go all out to win the EL so it's not like he would be with the reserves like under Redknapp.
Tomorrow's headlines: "AVB harassing players by congratulating them on their performance as they leave the pitch, furthering rift in the clubhouse"
"AVB disrespects Tottenham fans by taking to long to respond when they ask him to wave at them"

Important win. Another very worrying patch for 20 minutes after half-time, and another late goal conceded, but I'm obviously delighted with the three points.
I'd like to see Lloris, Caulker and Adebayor come in against Lazio.

I wasn't at the cinema or having a Chinese, so here is my match break down
Positives:
* That was only our second win away from home since the turn of 2012. Harry is such a talksport hashtag legend
* First time we've played a true 4-3-3 this season, and it worked rather well. Very fluid in the base 3. And with Dembele's physical strength patently clear, you'd expect it's now clear in AVB's mind that the need to play 2 out and out DM's (Livermore/Sandro choice to date) is not necessary. 433 is the future. Brian should change his username
* High pressing forced two major Reading errors and brought about two clear cut chances. Work in progress, but positive
* New boys Vertonghen / Dembele / Sig (Modric-esque slide rule pass to Lennon for the first ) all played very well. I'm slightly in manlove with Vertonghen. Might be the hair. Whatever it is, he had me at bonjour, and is already a proper Wojciech Szeszny in my eyes
Negatives:
* It was only Reading. Who were shite, and clearly looked rusty from having not played in 3 weeks
* Another nail biting, arse wrenching inability to convert chances. At 1-0 and countless missed opportunities, all circumcised beings feared the worst
* Reading should have been awarded a penalty after Reading's first free kick into the box. Still dodgy at set pieces. The Spurs tradition
* Conceded AGAIN in the final 10 minutes. That's 3 games in a row now. Like the girl who goes out on a dinner date intent on not putting out, but by dessert is taking her knickers off under the table. Opposition teams just know they're going to score with us. Such sluts
Overall:, pretty satisfactory. The fluidity was there, but the lack of cutting edge and defensive frailties still exist. Still some way to go to convince me we've got any chance of finishing in the top 4, but there was some real quality today in the passing and movement to suggest we are heading in the right track.
In summary, AVB might be a queer because he wears suits, speaks 5 languages and uses big words. But he's OUR queer

just think he might be asking for trouble buying Adebayor then benching him every week.. Of course he's only wrong in TS' eyes when he continues to play a reliable goalkeeper...debaser wrote:christmasborocooper wrote:AVB appears to be a spaz...

Random question: do Spurs fans like Jermaine Defoe? He's been there long enough and scored enough goals that he should be a bit of legend, but I always get the impression that he's tolerated rather than liked..what say you, ALL Spurs fans?

Actually I agree with the decision to put Friedel in this week - but in the long run Lloris (barely trained with the side) should be getting the starts.
Freidel got away with it last year because King, Kaboul, and Dawson are all excellent box defenders. Gallas and Vertonghen are smaller and are better at playing in the channels, so needing a more active keeper is a still a big issue.
Adebayor will get his fair share of gsme time, AVB will actually rotate unlike his predecessor.

I love Defoe when he's on fire - when I'm bored I still go to this link: http://www.220.ro/sport/Hull-City-Tottenham-1-5-HD/O1mr9DIjxA/ to see him at his best.
Overall though there's a generally acceptance than unless Defoe is absolutely at his best then he can have a negative impact with his greediness. The problem with JD is that he's still essentially the same player that he was in 2004. He's barely evolved.

Jermain Defoe is a Yiddo.
But yes, you're quite right Baser. Defoe gets quite a lot of stick down at White Hart Lane at times. Because of what TS has already mentioned
I'd still rate him amongst the best servants to this club we've ever had. But he's not quite good enough to earn legendary status in the way, say, Sheringham or Klinsmann or even Les Ferdinand have acquired in recent times.
Shame he didn't score with that chance today where he picked that long pass out of the air with one touch, turned 3 Reading defenders and attempted a shot with the outside of his boot. That was textbook Defoe as he can be when he's at his best

AVB's style is not the squash buckling it looks like his system is catching on and the focus at the end of the game problem should get better as they get use to it.
3-2-3-2 or 3-5-2 is always the best do not get fooled by lesser products pushed in TV commercials.

I can see us win here!
Anyway, nice goal by Buttner!
Butman & Robin are gonna be lethal for us! That face Evra pulled was also hilarious.
Spurs are void of any talent btw, no way they are gonna end in the top 4.

Everton looking good. Very well balanced team, with creative tricky players like Pienaar and Mirallas, the aerial threat of Fellaini, and consistently excellent delivery from Baines in wide position.
There's still Hibbert though.

Hmmm, I dont see us picking up more then a point here. Thank god Kimmy is out for a Sushi.
Sloppy start of the season, though we can't all have the luxury of starting against the likes of WBA, Norwich and Reading.

Fey , how many lucky richochets did Buttner get on his "dribble" to goal? Probably as many goals as Jermain Defoe has scored so far this season at least!

Entertaining few seconds. Everton have a goal not given when the ball was over the line, then Ben Arfa broke on a three on one and the referee blew up for a minor infringement rather than allow advantage to be played. Pretty shoddy officiating all round!
