Watch Spain come back in a year's time and knock out Brazil on their own patch. Just watch. Its one of those inevitable football stories, when all the knee jerkers look like idiots (Piers Morgan tweeting there has been a shift in power between Spain and Brazil.  The tool). Great game by Brazil, but seriously,  this is a tourny that involved Taihiti FFS. I'll believe when I see it next year.

Oh aye. Spain are still the best but this has been quite nice to watch tonight. Brazil need someone better than Hulk starting for them when it comes time for the proper stuff.

When does Federer ever play at Queens? LACK OF KNOWLEDGE!!

You're right though, in terms of the world cup this could help Spain. There are certain things that need changing, the striker for one, Spain needs to catch up with the rest of the world in regards to Torres. Arbeloa aswell has looked shocking tonight.

This sort of reaction is just as kneejerk as the tools you're aiming your barrell at. It's clearly not a shift of power, but it's a much better litmus test than the likes of Queens. You Queen. Particularly the fans and the climate.

Before the Uruguay game, Zico said the game against Uruguay would be harder than a possible final against Spain. I didn't believe him.

    Puro, CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111 lol!

Three of the most important players in this team, Fred, Neymar and Paulinho, still played for Brazilian teams this semester. Corinthians beat Chelsea on December. Paulinho beat Torres twice. Think about it.

The last time Brazil played an official match against Spain in Brazil was in the 1950 WC. Brazil won 6-1 and there were also "Olés!" from the crowd.

This team played together for the first time against England less than one month ago. Didn't win, but could have won. Then, 3-0 France, 3-0 Japan, 2-0 Mexico, 4-2 Italy, 2-1 Uruguay (the hardest game, like in the 1970 WC), 3-0 Spain.

Well, it was a good test. Hats off to Felipão.

Spain needed this, a shock to the system and for them it means that they won't hang on to certain players because of what they've given in the past for too long.

Arbeloa needs to go, Javi Martinez has to be integrated somehow and they have to sort out the striker situation.

Or this tournament can remind you of Halle, prior to Wimbledon. Last year Federer won it. Almost everyone played down his chances of winning Wimbledon, but he did it again two weeks later Smile

España should do the right thing and return the WC trophy. They 'won' it WITHOUT playing any of the South American big dogs and through ref's help in key games almost like the "Robbery of the Century" in 1966; Castle Grayskull took out Brasil in group stage with the refs Dagnall and McCabe and then made Argentina play with ten men.

Anyway, when España play the South American big dogs, they get utterly destroyed just like they did today 3-0 against Brasil and 4-1 against Argentina. TFS!

    @ Sheva, Juli and Todo,
Do you know why the manifestations are not demanding that killers such as Sebastiao Curio Rodrigues de Moura and others like him are not brought to justice under the Truth Commission?

Perhaps because the majority of them never heard about him.

The goal of the Truth Comission is to ascertain facts, not to take militaries to jail. They are after the brazilian fa president because he supported the dictatorship and publicly praised torturers at the time. Probably they will try to remove him from his post.

In fact there isn't much to do about it.

Brazil have an amnesty law that retroactively exempts militaries and "left wing people" from criminal liability for crimes committed.

Also in Brazil the statute of limitations for murder is 20 years.

Sheva have you heard of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights? In 2010 it struck down Brasil's 1979 Amnesty law. These gun-point Amnesty laws aren't holding water even in South America any more. There is new evidence relating to the disappeared and that puta Moura. It is similar to what I told Todo about how it could be done. A very similar thing is happening in Colombia and the methods used there apply here. The forensic science is ready to let the disappeared tell their stories. If anyone cares, I can explain how this is done and that it has already succeeded there. I know the people doing it and they are friends of mine. For once the US deserves a lot of credit!

The situation of the military crimes here reminds me of my favourite quote from a Southern US politician: "The search for justice has no statute of limitations. When confronted with the possible miscarriage of justice, even from the distant past, our values compel us to take a second look." : Governor Parris Glendening of Maryland regarding the case of John Snowden, wrongly hanged over 80 years earlier.

Crimes against humanity have no statute of limitations. The ICJ or others can try it if necessary, especially as other Amnesty laws in South America have been cast aside - Chile and Argentina for example. The question here, is whether there is the will to deliver justice for the disappeared. Dictators and their functionaries of any political hue must understand that once they are toppled they will have to answer for crimes against humanity however long it takes. That is the most powerful deterrent to them mounting coups and torturing and killing people. Brasil was not the worst - Gastarrazu Medici excepted - but so what? The crimes of the past shape the future. If they get away with this any future despot knows that all he or she has to do is kill to its so-called heart's content and then amnesty his regime. As far as I'm concerned, that's outrageous. And as for you FA President, kick the bastard out! Ironic that the anti-corruption kick doesn't mention his predecessor Ricardo Texeira and former FIFA President Joao Havelange. What about their proven corruption?

I didn't know that, but in 2010 brazilian Supreme Court decided that the amnesty law is valid. There's no hierarchy between the Supreme Court and the Inter American-Court of Human Rights. Supreme Court members are honest and intelligent men, they are not right wing corrupts.

Sheva, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights is part of the Organisation of American States. Brasil is part of that organisation. It can't just be ignored. For example, before the Confederations Cup its Commission came to Brasil to demand progress on the investigation into the murder of Vladimir Herzog. That could well bite the puta Marin hard!

There is huge debate among jurists if Brazil is obliged or not to follow the Inter-American Court of Human Rights decisions. I would love to see torturers and murderers behind the jail, but there is no consensus between the Supreme Court and Inter-American Court.

The Dutchies were gifted the win by that Jap ref who allowed them to kick the shite out of Brasil. Oh I remember that Jap, not even one yellow card to van Bommel when any neutral ref would've shown him TWO red cards, the c**t.

You knew Blatter went to work big time when he saw all his Euro teams drop like flies and all the Americanos advance.

You're going to play that card after we've just watched Brazil hack their way through this tournament? tongue  They even did it against the poor old Japanese, who are far too honourable to use such tactics.

I can't remember the Brazil/Holland game tbh, the Argentina/Germany one was so one-sided though, which was no surprise given Argentina's coach.

There is no shift in power, that is bullshit. This is more about home advantage, the Europeans will struggle with consecutive games in that heat. Lets not forget that Spain has a day less of rest, and Italy took out a lot from them.

Scolari has built a very physical side, and they would be tough to beat. IMO Brasil will start the next world cup as favourites...

maybe the game would have been different without the early goal, Spain is like bayern from 2012, they need a lead, and struggle when they go behind, because of there slow motion game.

    overall i think spain is way past it, they rode there luck far too long, there only convincing tournament was the euro 2008, where they played an ageing italy and an average germany;

bayern found a formula to beat tiki taka, and everyone is copying them now THINK ABOUT IT

spain is like roger federer in his early days, looking like the best ever graced the sport, but he hardly had decent opponents

brasil, italy, germany, spain for the WC, those 4 teams in the semi final would be epic
