It's mental for a manager to outline targets isn't it?

Thankfully for us, Arsenal haven't spent a penny this summer but Spurs have signed some very good players so 5th should be our target for now.

What about Newcastle? Tricky game to start...

We've said top 10, but knowing Pardew that will change as bad luck starts to set in. What we haven't said is "we will never accept 2nd best, but 10th will do".

we got Arsenal (a), Chelsea (a), Liverpool (h) in the first 8 days of the season. and then a 3 week gap before the next game Erm

often seem to get Arsenal on the opening day. usually draw there.

If they paid a flat £8m for him then that's madness. Norwich paid that for Ricky van Wolf's Winkel.

Most likely that half of that £8m is clause related and he'll need to score 20 goals in a season, play for England, have Palace win the League or FA Cup and reach the knockout stages of the Champions League before Peterborough see most of it.

If you like football you must get DIRECTV. They have the best programming when it comes to sports.

beIN Sport = La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1
GOLTV = Bundesliga, Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay, Eredivisie
    NBC = BPL
ESPN Deportes = Brasil, Argentina, Eredivisie
FOX Sports 1 = Champions League and Europa League (maybe beIn Sport has Europa League)
    FOX Deportes = Copa Libertadores

Think we'll sneak a win. City to win by 3 or 4. United will struggle initially but somehow fucking RVP will win it for them. Chelsea a comfortable win, Spurs may struggle a bit, same with Arsenal.

Yeah, Sturridge was a boss signing. He's only played half a pre season game but played a lot of a closed doors friendly match last night for us and scored so I'm hoping his sharpness will be there.

Toure was a replacement for Carragher but will have to start as Skrtel is injured and Coates is poor. I really thought we'd be getting in a good quality central defender but looks like we're trying to replace Enrique first.

I'd rather see Henderson in the team than Allen but that would mean pushing Gerrard back so Hendersn can play as the attacking midfielder, which he's best at.

Suarez is staying now so with him in the team we'd be one or two quality players away from top 4, one in defence and one in midfield but you never know. As I said, Arsenal haven't improved their squad at all so far but Spurs have. Chelsea, City and United should be well ahead of the rest.

I remember Luis wanted Gerrard out at the beginning of last season, at the moment it is just Enrique's turn.

I still remember his campaign for Lucas OUT Grr, now he's Lucas's biggest fan.

Gerrard played well last season, the season before he was a bit meh.

I don't have a major problem with Enrique; he just seems very inconsistent. Some games he'll defend well, link up well with the attack and look good, other games he looks a disaster. We are linked with some Granada left back for 6 million. I'm not sure wed spend 6 million on a left back unless he was going to start for us. After all we've made a profit this summer from player sales so we're not exactly this rich club some people believe we are - bidding for players like Costa doesn't convince me we have a spare 20-30 million lying around. The money will be back from when we do sell Suarez in January or next summer.

As for Lucas, he started terribly at this club and MOST Liverpool fans doubted his ability. He's really improved since then but last season injuries hampered him. I hope he can regain his ability otherwise sooner or later we may need another defensive midfielder.
