Oh Prof, you're not those of those hashtag ümlautwankers are you?
Always thought you and the Arsenal fans on here were a class above. Alas, it's like an infection, and it's taken one of you down. Very upsetting news

Chuba Akpom is going to be a beast. 17. Already 6 ft. Pacy, athletic, strong (black). And with decent technique too. The English Benteke(/Heskey - we'll find out)
I've said it before, but he's far and away my favourite player in our reserves (we don't have many quality ones bar him, Gnabry, Bellerin and Zelalem anyway). You've already stated his attributes but he is very good technically. He already leads the line for England U19s. Last season for the U21s and in the NextGen series, he got 17 goals in 20 games. He also got 4 in pre-season. Lots of positives in his game - that's why I was frustrated when we went and got Sanogo Hope Akpom makes it.

The fact Frimpong wasn't even in the squad last night says a lot. Used to find him funny and passionate but now he just does my head in. He'll be off soon enough, seems more interested in being a Z list celebrity. Olsson and Eisfeld are a bit meh, may have decent careers but not at Arsenal.

Frimpong - the black urban David May So Dench that he can't make the bench!
@ Debbie & Glenn
Maybe I didn't articulate my point clearly, I wasn't attempting to lord it over Villa in any way.
Basically Villa and Spurs were on a similar level financially from 2007-10 in terms of transfer Spend and wages but the difference was thanks to the DISGRACE Villa were left with a lot of players who they couldn't move on, which kind of wiped out the good fees that you got for Downing, Young, Barry & Milner. Add to that a balloning wage bill and it's little wonder you had to scale back.

Re: League Cup 2013-14
yep very true. some of the signings DISGRACE made really fucked us over (and that continued upto McLeish with likes of Hutton & Given now draining wages in reserves). Only since Lambert's come in that we've started much more sensible long-term approach which will hopefully pay off in the next few years.Deluded F*ck wrote:@ Debbie & Glenn

From what I've seen of the two, Akpom looks way ahead of Sanogo in his development. Sanogo has looked painfully off the pace in the limited amount of times i've seen him play for Arsenal, not to mention him being three years older.Romford Pele wrote:I've said it before, but he's far and away my favourite player in our reserves (we don't have many quality ones bar him, Gnabry, Bellerin and Zelalem anyway). Bellerin did well in central midfield. Guess it's pretty unsurprising that he is excellent technically. Don't know how good he is physically mind?
Interesting that Jenkinson and Ramsey have turned into such beasts in that respect.

Is it just me or does Kevin try to turn every thread into a Chuba Akpom vs Yaya Sanogo comparison?
I was impressed by Bellerin - he looked lively, but he came on in extra time so you'd expect him to be fresher.

Well of my 7 weekly posts, at least 3 of them are about Chuba Akpom, or a different excitingly named striker.
But i'm sure you've got some hard facts and figures to put me in my place.
