Lovren has been impressive for Saints. Nice header. They've had the better chances even though Liverpool have dominated possession. Clearly miss Coutinho. For all of Moses' dribbling ability, he's constantly coming in from wide positions and Saints look solid enough to deal with balls being played across their back four.

hope Rodgers can learn from his mistakes today, he really fucked up the team selection and I can't understand his decision to play 4 centre backs at home to Southampton.

Pochettino in contract got his tactics spot on, Southampton were pressing Liverpool high up the pitch meaning the only outball for Mignolet was a hoof towards the little brown forwards. 

No further injuries today is the only plus point. Suarez is no longer suspended. He'll be injured soon enough.

However bad Newcastle manage to be, Sunderland somehow do worse. Di Canio will be sacked for punching one of his black players, mark my words.

Liverpool could not get the ball to their forwards with quick forward passes, Sturridge had to drop deep to get the ball. Even with Coutinho in the side I can see them struggling against teams that press high up the pitch, they need a DLP(comfortable under pressure) that can spray passes between the lines IMO.

Mignolet is very good, insane reflexes! He's no Reina with the ball at his feet though, so maybe Pool haven't bought the right keeper for the way they want to play.

The more Everton play they show all the hallmarks of a side moving forward in terms of strong leadership. Martinez worked his magic to completely reverse his sides first half display into a winnable second half. 

A team from Merseyside remains the only unbeaten side in the league. It's just not the one in red.

Still too early to say how good Everton will be this season, but given they usually start poorly (last season an anomaly) and same said of Martinez during his time at Wigan, they must be pretty pleased with how it's going after losing Screech. 3 beautiful goals today. Lukaku looks like he's just stepped out of the jungle and is playing for his survival. Terrifying.

No Johnson / Enrique / Coutinho / Suarez eliminates most of the creativity from the side, although its becoming more and more clear that Gerrard and Lucas are the players who will hold this side back. Allen should be able to force his way in here when fit.

One to forget, but will be useful if it teaches Brenton never to pick a side like that again. All blame goes to him today, good as Southampton were
