We were awful yesterday, absolutely awful. I know many fans, as long as there's two up front and old fashioned touchline hugging wingers, will be happy regardless but that amateurish shit isn't for me. Sherwood has kept AVB's ultra high line but got rid of everything that was protecting it.
The 2nd was Rose's fault, but what does it say about Soldado's mentality that he's passing back to the last man instead of putting the ball back in the mixer? Play the fucking percentages! I was apprehensive about him coming in, I preferred a few other strikers. Irritation has boiled over into near hatred, I'm back in that Darren Bent 2008 phase. In this set-up he's reliant on Adebayor playing well. It's not enough for his price-tag and reputation.
People wanted "their Tottenham back", there it is - out of both domestic cups in 3 weeks. Sherwood, like Soldado is clearly dependent on Adebayor playing brilliantly.
People got way to carried away by us beating a declining Man Utd, a 2nd Choice Southampton defence, and a depleted/fatigued Stoke.
Hopefully (but not likely) when he manages to get a deeper squad together in terms of fit players coming back and our better players coming back, he can get a more rounded idea of where he wants to take this team. We have a big squad, any team would struggle with the amount of injuries we have - Sandro, Paulinho, Townsend, Vertonghen and Kaboul all could easily start, and that's not to mention the likes of Siggy, Holtby, Lamela and Defoe to offer us more options.
Call me again in June when Sherwood's out an Van Gaal *prays* is in.
