Of course, Europe has ridiculous 13 spots.  Doh

Bring back the 24 teams format and give 6 spots for Europe and 6 for South America, says I.  ok

    That would be fair.

It would be fair if you were a deluded fucko.

One continent has 10 countries, the other 50+. Makes sense to give them the same number of spots.

So what? Asia and Africa have 50+ also.

You give 6 spots for South America and ban altitue games and you'll have 6 good teams.

You give 13 spots for Europe and we have to endure games with crap teams like Switzerland and Greece.

I don't think we need any more Ecuadors. I don't mind if they consider taking a place or 2 from Europe, but South America is at it's limit.

Ecuador shouldn't be in this WC. They are here only because of the altitude. Paraguay would do a good job.

You really think Venezuela would make an impact?

Paraguay came last in qualifying and never do anything when they do make it.

Also, how Loew keeps playing Oezil who can't beat a physically stronger defender in a 1 vs. 1 situation is beyond me. Podolski and Schuerrle are rotting on the bench.

I think France are serious contenders (but not favourites).

Greece are awful, they got very lucky with both their qualifying group and their playoff draw. Serbia, Sweden, and Ukraine would be far more interesting.

S America versus Europe is too easy, Fey. There's no thrill anymore. Let's make it easier for Europe and see how they do against the rest of the world.

Up to now, it's 7-5 for the rest of the world (3 draws). Tomorrow Portugal have the chance of making it 7-6 against USA.  <Ale>

You're putting alot of stock in this world cup, will you concede that South American football is forever inferior if a European team wins?

Not that a European team will win if these refs have anything to do with it.

Don't take it so seriously, Kimbo.  <Ale>

If a European team wins, which is not unlikely since Brazil and Argentina are not in a good moment, I'll have to agree that Europe have been superior in this century.  ok

In the 20th century, South America won 1 WC more than Europe, even with many more WCs held in Europe than in SA.

     Question

Qualified at Spain's expense from group in '98 and eventual winners needed ET Golden Goal.

Got to KO stages in 2002 and eventual runner up needed ET.

Reached QF's last time and rattled Spain.

How awful that Klose has the record.

No pace, not big, not skillful, doesn't strike a ball well but apart from that  Rolling Eyes

He rivals Lampard and Gerrard as worst "World Class" footballer of all time.

14 full seasons and only 4 times has he scored 15 league goals or more - 36 yo and he only had one 20 league goal season in his entire career  Shocked

Just one goal in KO stages of CL - last minute, 10 yard offside v 10 man Fiorentina who had been fucked by Ovrebo.

World Cups are strange like that (Schillaci, Salenko)

Pjanic didn't deserve to lose last night - every time he touches the ball he seems to create a clear cut chance down the middle or give a great crossing/cutback opportunity for wideman.

Emenike and the young Chelsea player in defence were great for Nigeria.

So they haven't done anything that middling UEFA sides can't do. Croatia finished 3rd in 98, Turkey finished 3rd in 2002, Portugal got to the semi's in 2006.

Paraguay finishing last in the qualifiers doesn't mean much. Mexico was awful in the qualifiers, changed the coach and found their game. Paraguay could do the same. They have the players for it.

Seriously now, I'd make 4.5 spots a full 5 spots for South America. More than that would be indeed too much for a 10-country continent. Europe could have 10 guaranteed spots + 3 possible spots through play-offs against other continents' teams. If those Euro teams are really better, they will qualify anyway.

quick question, when did David Luiz become some sort a international super star?, because i have literally seen him in every commercial during the world cup here.

Is that why PSG paid so much for him?. they knew something I didn't

The Dutchies trying hard with uncle sepp to give them a hand against Chile. Uncle sepp gave them a ref from Gambia. lol!

Who are they trying to bullshit? Might as well just give them the worst ref in the WC thus far, their very own zionist Kuypers, Kuipers, Kipers or whatever the hell his name is.  Biggrin  <Ale>

Also uncle sepp went into panic mode just like in 2010, this time BEFORE the KO stage. Keep an eye on the México-Croatia game. The ref is from UZBEKISTAN!!! lol!

Even though Croatia doesn't share borders with Uzbekistan they have very close ties, culturally, economically, politically etc. That would be like CONMEBOL selecting a Peruvian ref for the México-Croatia game. Uncle sepp what's up c**t!  Biggrin  <Ale>

The euros mafia in panic mode. Whoop  Whoop  Whoop

How you like them cookies, Todo and Sheva.  Biggrin  <Ale>
