Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
According to the DM, Arsenal wins on points!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2682153/Alexis-Sanchez-wanted-Arsenal-Liverpool-clock-ticks-Barcelona-career-English-powerhouse-pick-World-Cup.html
Anyway, Janmaat to NEwcastle it seems. Had a discussion with a mate of mine what would be better, Napoli or Newcastle!

He just called me back, 10 mins ago, he said Newcastle, for the atmoshpere and the football. And he loves Italian food.

Coming to Newcastle right now is suicide. De Jong said the club wants CL football, we're simply lying to get players to sign.

I think the London thing gets overplayed, only the truly tarty players care about that.
Is Wenger suddenly a master tactician again now he's won his first trophy in 9 years?
Liverpool are already into the group stages of the CL, play exciting football and really we tore Arsenal to shreds last season - if a player like Sanchez was watching that match which team would he rather sign for?
Right now the only thing that would sway a player to join Arsenal over us is London, simple as that.
Wenger is a world famous and respected coach, despite his recent history. Rogders was at Swansea last year.
That might not matter as much as Liverpool losing their best player, and their 2nd best player being older, a bit unsteady on his feet and having a remarkable small forehead (why he didn't get good contact on that header against Uruguay):
As well as the manager he has got to think about who he will play alongside, and what are the chances of winning, not based simply on the last season. Arsenal currently has more star names, which attracts other stars. Liverpool have got to repeat the last season and do well in the CL, and it could be different next season.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
I don't really want another conversation about how much you hate gerrard.
So how about I save us some time and go straight to the conclusions:
1. Most important: Kimbo hates Gerrard, while 110% likes Gerrard
2. Less important: Gerrard was Liverpool's 2nd best player last season, I saw it with my own eyes, plus these independent stats back it up:
http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/26
His main contender was sturridge who tailed off towards the end of the season.

Tadic to Southampton for 14-15M euros : that's a steal for the best player in the Eredivisie

Fulham, in the championship, have spent £11m on Ross McCormack

Couldn't believe that when I read it.. He's like a £4m-£5m at the very most. Even that amount is quite a risk.. Certainly can't see him scoring goals in the premiership if they manage to get promoted.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
McCormack in one season at cardiff won between 10 and 15 penalties I think - ridiculous !
Anyway, if being promoted is worth £140m then he prob is worth around that amount, daft as it sounds.
Surely Deeney would be worth the same amount so Burnley had best fuck off unless they are really serious.
Talking of Burnley, Marvin Sordell is potentially a great signing. Great pace and acceleration, excellent striker of a ball and very two footed - about time his career took off, needs to concentrate on the game more than social networking sites and he could even be outside bet for EUR '16

It's an American attitude, their sports are all about the individual and their stats, this Yank is banking on a star player being the difference, but this is not lankyblackmanball, it's a proper team sport.

it's gonna be tricky to fit Ozil, Sanchez, Cazorla, Walcott, Ramsey into one team, but I daresay that's a nice problem to have.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
Don't forget Oxlade-Chamberlain. Cazorla doesn't suit what's become of a counter attacking team. We should sell him and try get a real high grade Center forward who can convincingly play upfront on their own. Don't mind the prospect of Sanchez as false nine if we get a the top quality left winger we've needed for years now.debaser wrote:Luis wrote:Great signing for Arsenal but they still need a striker.

if arsenal want to get the best out of sanchez, he has to be played down the middle, either as a false 9 or behind a 9, anything else we be a waste

I suppose Sanchez as false 9 with Walcott also cutting in could work.
Ox/Wilshere-Arteta/Flamini
Ramsey
Walcott-Sanchez-Ozil
Cazorla is probably the fall guy, agreed. didn't look as good last season but too good to be just a reserve.

Now Spurs are in for Origi
At this point I'd be content to just offer 60 million for James Rodriguez.
