Capello´s thoughts on RM Empty Capello´s thoughts on RM

    Post by The-Frank-Tavern Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:20 pm

I´ve nicked this from QLD´s board, but it makes v interesting reading

    http://www.as.com/articulo/futbol/Capell...ftb_8/Tes/
    http://www.as.com/articulo/opinion/Capel...opi_1/Tes/
    http://www.as.com/articulo/futbol/claves...ftb_1/Tes/

I'd be very surprised to see this as our exact team, but wouldn't rule it out totally.

The rough/brief translation from the original AS article:

    - Capello seems to prefer Ruud to Ronnie, he seems to have impressed Capello in pre-season and Ronnie might find it hard to regain his place when fit again. They're expecting Ruud to continue as 1st choice.

    - Capello wants to move Ramos to right back, in doing so would free Cicinho to play further forward where he is at his best; attacking. This would obviously cause problems for Becks, as he'd lose his position.

    - Then it mentions Raul. From day 1 Capello addressed the Raul situation early, mentioning how he counted on Raul to captain and lead this team, so there's no doubt that he has a major part to play.

    - De La red + Javi Garcia, have both impressed Capello in pre-season and look likely to be in the squad, De La Red as backup for Emerson, with Javi Garcia as backup to Diarra (if signed)

    - Robinho + Baptista, according to the article do not convince Capello. Apparently he prefers to use Raul behind the striker, instead of Baptista, and prefers Cassano on the left instead of Robinho. So basically, both will struggle to get into the team

    - Diego Lopez, for some reason impresses Capello also, mainly due to his height and the fact that Iker is fairly short. The article seems to be suggesting that he put faith in Lopez over Iker

So if Diarra is signed -

    ---------------------- Casillias

    Ramos ------- Cannavaro ---- Woodgate ---- R Carlose

    Cicinhio --------- Diarra ------- Emerson

    ------------------------ Raul -------------- Cassano

    -------------------- Van Nistelrooy

and with Reyes coming, Robinho would just be an understudy to Raul.

think so parky, but if cassano is a Left side option surely reyes is looking doubtful and wenger has been telling the truth all along, and i was right yesterday as i don´t see reyes as a capello player, and if robinho isn´t then reyes certainly isn´t

I'd be surpised if he stuck with Woody, although it would be great if he could stay fit and prove himself.

Ramos has said today that he will learn great things playing next to Canny.

If this is true Capello is a mug, and can fcuk off right now, all these things point towards one thing. Anti Football, i cant stand to watch Lpool, and now my own team will be playing like them.

@ TM... if your team is winning i can guarantee you will be a much happier fan

anti football = most shots on goal last year and in matches vrs big 5 most possession and most shots... it's all a myth mate Smile

of course capello is going to make this team more solid... what did the directors and fans expect when they signed him

Surely Cassano needs to go to fat camp before he gets into the first team, or has he lost a few pounds now?

I think Madrid are going to finish 3rd behind Barca and Valencia. valencia have a strong squad, and they're signing Andrare from deportivo. Barca are going to walk the title this year.

    Don't forget Sevilla.

IMO Capello adopts the wrong tactics for the present da la liga and their team may struggle a bit - at least they now have a solid defence and two very good goalscorers

Yes.... would LOVE that - but IMO neither of them are filling positions we need cover for.

Bappy is an attacking midfielder/forward and Robinho is a forward.

What we need is a CD, a DM and a left winger thats willing to cover defensively (which robinho won't)

if they buy a new CB especially someone like Gallas/Chivu, i think they will play 3 at the back as i was read somewhere the other say.

    --------Ramos-------Cana--------Gallas/Chivu

    --Beckham-------Emerson-----Diarra--------Robinho/reyes

    ------------------------Cassano---------------

    ----------------Ruud----------------Raul------

petty good team, now we can have a real clasico. i stead of ur just kicking thier ass from the get go. we will have to wait about 20 mins. Very Happy
