Scholes easy.
Gerrard relies a lot on his pace and also his ong range shotting. Although Scholes did have a bit of pace and a good shot he would offer so much more.

Scholes has been the best English midfielder for quite some time you almost never see him lose possession, he has fantastic passing, vision, shooting, can read the game fabulously and a winning mentality.With no pun intended quite frankly we miss him in the England set up.

have you seen him this season though some of the challenges against Sheffield United we wouldn't have seen from him in his peak,
I think like most players as he has matured hios positioning and reading of the game has improved in defensive situations and Carrick seems to get the best out of him in this sense. Although he is still prone to the odd hospital tackle

I was thinking the same thing, can't compare a player who is 32 and a player who is 25 with 5-7 of his best years in front of him.

Has he had his peak? He seems to have gone down hill.
I've always said, Gerrard has the makings to be an amazing footballer, quick, athletic, strong, great striker of a ball, brave, just has no brain at all. He's 26 now and that shows no sign of improving.

Gerrard is by far the more inconsistant of the two this season and throughout there careers.
Gerrard could edge Scholes out down the road just by changing small parts of his game so through experiance he can this make up. Scholes has never had the same kind of pace and always had to rely on his noodle. This is football and like many things in life intelligence is important but never a priority...
