Pizarro once again scores the "money goal" for Bayern. Great assist by Deisler saying "here Claudio, score them money goals and give us another win". Biggrin <Ale>

Sevilla after Pizarro if Bayern don't show him the money. Great to see Deisler back for Bayern! <Ale>

No surprise here LRD, Pizarro always scores the "money goals". He's always done that from Pesquero, Alianza Lima, Werder Bremen, and now Bayern. Sevilla may be his next team if Bayern don't show him the money. Too bad Valente mess up your clean sheet. Biggrin <Ale>

Hamburg gets my vote for unluckiest team this season. So many injuries they have it's a pity. They're actually a good team, but injuries are really killing them. They remind me of Betis from last season with all those injuries. <Ale>

Deisler was really incredible. Good to have him back. Such a talent. Hope he can stay healthy.

Still, it was also quite sad to see how Hamburg just fell apart in the 2nd half. They basically weren't on the pitch for a good 35 minutes.

It's true HSV has a lot of injured players, but other clubs as well.
I like Doll, he is a great manager and he tried everything possible to change the current situation but at some point HSV needs to wake up and realize that something has to change, before it is too late.

I don't agree with everybody protecting Doll so much.

I feel bad for him but one victory in 21 (!) games is a joke. Even with all these injuries. Plus, all of his players run out of steam after 60 minutes (or less) and that concerns their physical fitness which has everything to do with the coach.

I think he should resign. He'd be fine. He has a clause that guarantees him 600,000 Euros if he resigns. (If he waits until they fire him he'll get 900,000.) Nice Christmas money, no?

How about Jürgen Röber? I think he'd be good for Hamburg.

    I totally agree with you!!!
Hamburg has, also without the players who left the club, one of the strongest squads in the league and 1 victory is just not acceptable then. If it were Magath or any other manager in the Bundesliga, who had such a losing streak with the given potential of the team, then they would've been already sacked.
I feel sorry for Doll, but the club is more important than the fate of one single person.

I actually agree with you, and I mean this in the interest of the club that is our archrival, and that I usually loathe with a passion. Doll made quite a few tactical mistakes again, as so often this season. His reaction came way too late again, 5 min before the match ends, and he replaced the wrong players even (VDV?!?!). It really doesn't look like he can motivate his team either, HSV basically disappeared in the second half, despite their lead, as so often this season -> Once under pressure, the "team" almost panicks and falls apart -> There is no structure in the team, if you can actually call it that. And the coach is responsible for that, he had enough time really.

By the look of it, the mood of the HSV fans is (finally) changing also. Most of them have resignated, and believe that a new coach is necessary, especially if Hamburg doesn't win their upcoming matches against Bochum, Aachen and Nürnberg.

Good point actually. While this (supposedly) is a European board, which means that us talking German would be against the philosophy of the board, it wouldn't really make a difference, would it? I mean, with the exception of a few windups, and occasionally some Dutchies (can actually count them as Krauts, since most of them understand German perfectly), only the few German posters on this board are really interested in the Bundesliga here.

"Wenn die Zeit reif ist, handeln wir"

    http://www.sport1.de/de/sport/artikel_616106.html

Bernd Hoffmann, chairman of HSV, seems to have lost it completely now. He is talking about working with Doll for the next 3 years (!), and not just 3 weeks. He says that in retrospect, all of the transfer decisions they made in the summer were comprehensible and correct (!). They may try to buy new players in the winter break, but they know that it will be difficult to attract good players while they are relegation candidates still (this actually makes sense...).

But, and this is the most ridiculous statement, they still want to stick to their 'plan' to join the European top 20 in 5 years. Seriously, after this disastrous CL season, I hope that we won't see HSV in the CL again for the next 20 years, that was embarassing enough.

And I can't see them at the top of the league for years to come, if they don't get relegated that is. They most probably won't even play the UEFA Cup next year, which makes it very difficult for them to afford their rather expensive squad. And, more importantly, some of their key players like VDV will probably leave, because playing in Europe is a necessity for them.

Just plain ridiculous, Hoffmann at his best. The sooner HSV get rid of this blowhard, the better.
