Real Madrid - Who should stay and who should go?

So, Marca is running a poll asking users who in the current Real Madrid squad should stay or go. Vote in the poll for the players who you think should STAY. Multiple votes are allowed, so go ahead and vote for everyone who RM should keep and we'll see what the board thinks.

I've left out Beckham since his departure is confirmed. And since only 20 poll choices are allowed, let's assume these are staying for sure - Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Gago, Higuain

I'm not suprised by most of those, the only that suprised me is the Salgado 82% GO, even though i voted go for him i didn't think many others would.

Half the problems Real have had is the disruptions of players/managers coming and going. What the need is to create some stability, pretty difficult considering the expectation of the fans and the club. Sometimes patience is required.

Worst decision in the recent history of Madrid, to get rid of Del Bosque.

Yeh, both played tonight, and both played well IMO. Early days yet.

Its kinda deja vu... what Real have been in the last 3-4 years was exactly what Inter were in the late 90s... confused fickle top management, too many coaches, too many "useless galacticos" (we used to call them primadonnas), too many changes, very little continuity.

Mancio will become the first coach in the moratti era to last 3 seasons!

Thats what Real need more than anything else. 3 seasons of capello.

Personally, I would keep Casillas, Diego Lopez, Cicinho, Sergio Ramos, Raul Bravo, Marcelo, Diarra, Gago, Guti, Robinho, Reyes, Raul, van Nistelrooy, and Higuain.

Promote Torres, De la Red, Javi Garcia, and Mata from the B team.

And then sign a few central defenders...from the Spanish league (defenders coming from Italy don't adapt well to Spain) somone like Juanito maybe if Betis goes down, or Alexis from Getafe, or Gonzalo from Villarreal (if his knee is ok), or Andrade from Deportivo, or maybe Jarque from Espanyol etc, etc, etc. Enough choices?

And *cough* Cristiano Ronaldo.

Agree except for a few cases. For starters, Bravo out

Raul is a conditional case for me. If he starts performing on a regular basis then keep him but if he keeps underperforming then he should leave. It would also help the team start a new stage on a symbolic level.

Reyes should stay only if he starts playing the way he did a few months ago by the end of the season. Otherwise we might as well get Baptista back and save the money to buy a pure winger.

Cannavaro could also stay if he starts performing the way he's supposed to. It's a tall order to go from Seria A to La Liga at any age let alone 32. It was his own decision of course and he's getting paid well enough, but we should at least give him till the end of the season.

I would also keep Roberto Carlos if he keeps performing like he has so far. Marcelo can then be gradually placed in the first team and within a season or 2 at the most, he'll be a starter. I think that might be a wiser move because if we sell RC we would have to buy and experienced LB or rely on Bravo as backup with an 18 year old as a starter.

I think in the summer if you do bring in that big signing you were talking about yesterday, Reyes wouldn't have a space in the squad, especially as Arsenal will want a fair whack.

I well, I'd keep Reyes, I think he has shown glimpses of what he can do for us so far. If he stay away from the injuries I think the best is yet to come from him in the second half of the season. His performances from his Sevilla days are etched in my memory and because he is still quite young, I think the potential for him to be the owner of our left wing in the future is good.

As for Raul Bravo...he's not particularly good but he does work hard and he is fine as a backup. Clearly Marcelo is the left back of the future and so who else will we find who will train hard, not complain about being a backup? At this point, I'd rather have him than Roberto Carlos and his bad attitude.

this is not meant to be a Windup i Included all the players that a Madridistas true and true(raul,casillas,Guti...) and all of Capello's fav...(Canna and emerson) as well as the new guys who they obviously won't sell.

Capello is going to get sacked soon....

Real new weeks ago that Beckham was going to leave, apparently they offered him a very pitiful new contract to him, but he accepted it and they were all very surprised. But he decided to leav eafter they expressed they didn't wnat him!

Also they all said Beckham has been blown out of proportion with the amount of skils he has, he is actually very average but they say Real Madrid would be a better team if every players work ethic was as good as Beckhams....
