Abramovich paid what, 50, 60 million for the club, and got rid of a 90 million pound debt (before replacing it with a 300 million pound interest-free loan in the form of underwriting losses).

Roman paid £50million and yes, got rid of the £90million debt. I'm not sure if Liverpool are in debt, but I know the deal is said to be around £160million.
Makes me wonder how much the Glazers will end up forking out on United, once they've cleared the £450-500m debt United were supposedly in (according to the reports which came out shortly after the takeover).

Concede that it was'nt just bad defending but was also some great play from rosicky, especially for the first and most crucial goal

We bought an entire squad. You'll be doing the same when the Sheiks takeover .
No chance
Reina, Finnan, Agger, Carragher Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko ,Kuyt, Crouch
Just 3 players we need really

Well pointed out Grim.
So, Chelsea are without Makelele, probably Terry and Cech remains a doubt; even if he is back it's his first game for 3 months or so...
Time for a bit of gamesmanship? Hoof it up toward Crouch/Kuyt in the first minute or so and see just how eager Cech is to come and claim the ball.

not counting that Catalonia Cup game this season. Ridiculous they play that at the same time as an international game.

Better for the prem if both liverpool and arsenal win.
Although the gap is still big 1 or 2 losses or draws from chelsea and manu (and maybe an injury to key players), and liverpool and arsenal are close enough to put pressure on them, even if not catch them. Pressure can be very important, as Newcastle found out. At least it would make the EPL far more interesting.

agreed, if we win and United win as well then the league could effectively be over as far as 1st place is concerned

This is such a horrible dilemma for head and heart.
Head: United win and Liverpool win. Puts more pressure on Chelsea, takes us clear of Arsenal and increases our chances of nabbing second (I know it's not likely but never say die).
Heart: Liverpool win and Arsenal win.
Worst case scenario: United win Liverpool/Chelsea draw.

Head: Liverpool comprehensively beat Chelsea & Arsenal beat United with a dodgy 96th minute penalty which Senderos steps up to score; doubly ironic given that he should have been sent off for ruling out Ronaldo for the rest of the season earlier on in the match.
United, deflated, go onto lose the next 10 on the bounce along with Chelsea and Liverpool drop no points from then on until the end of the season.

The only problem you'll have playing this style with Crouch, is that Stephen Hunt is mobile enough to run at a decent pace.
And Kuyt will not be able to get in behind the defence from a ball over the top (unless Rio decides to play for us this weekend )

6-0 to Liverpool, 3-0 to Arsenal. Mourinho and Fergie to retire after their games and Wenger to be arrested for child molestation.

Lawro's prediction
Liverpool v Chelsea (1245 GMT)
Chelsea are unbeaten in 14 games, but we all know things aren't well. There's no John Terry and there is probably no better time to play them.
After their last two home performances against Arsenal, Liverpool will want to produce some sort of reaction and I feel they can notch a rare win against one of the top teams.
Prediction: 2-1
