And when Abramovich brought in Shevchenko

Yeah .. Chelsea should just let Mourinho and his staff take care of business on the pitch, who comes in and goes out, not Roman

Do Chelsea fear what happened at Hearts could happen at the Bridge?

also no manager from the big 4 has to deal with other people who suddenly buy players(sheva) who they didnt want. and yes i know that no manager has been able to buy like him either.

Though on Football Focus today, Peacock said he was convinced Shevchenko was a Mourinho pick. From hearing from different people at CFC.

Don't know.. It is idiotic to put transfers in the hands of a manager. It should b Arnesen that decides in order to assure that Mourinho doesn't sign anymore dodgy Portuguese players.. The sports director is the main responsible for the long term planning, Mourinho the short term.

oh well. Not at all surprised with that. At least we don't have a another PL game for over a week.

On other points that have been made...

Selling Gallas remains the right decision...no point in keeping him after his behaviour in the summer. Kenyon should have offered him a proper contract in 2005.

Buying Ashley Cole was wrong, as I have always said. The biggest problem with this was that as soon as he arrived he got put into the team ahead of an on-form Wayne Bridge. This sets a terrible precedent for the rest of the squad players. Can't believe he was an "untouchable", since he hasn't been great.

Ballack has been poor, as has Lampard. I think a team can get by with one of these sorts of players - but two is being silly. José got this very wrong. On the other hand I can understand Mourinho's mindset to an extent...their goals have got us a few points this season.

Shevchenko is the most interesting case. I still don't believe that Roman just went off and bought him without consulting Mourinho. I actually don't think he has played that badly...certainly I feel Mourinho dropping him has been a mistake. When we had him and Drogba up front we were playing a lot better and I always felt he contributed to the team at least. Mourinho got this wrong in my opinion. The goals would have come.

The injuries...have been bad. BUT Mourinho should have had 4 CBs tbh... selling 2 and buying 1 was never a clever plan. I also question Arnesen and our youth policies... we have invested an absolute shitload of money in the youths and we still got KOd in 4th round of the FA Youth Cup (AGAIN) and have no-one ready for the first team (or even close really).

People drawing comparisons with Hearts are going over the top I think. Abramovich is far from stupid. I actually agree with him about not giving Mourinho much money this month. He doesn't deserve it.

Ultimately Mourinho has made a few mistakes. I still think he's a great manager and I hope he stays.

No praise from the non Liverpool fans for Carragher then. Erm

Funny that... when he fucks up against Arsenal there's plenty to say, but when he marshall's Drogba for 90 minutes - not for the first time - there's not a peak...

Steven Gerrard > Ballack .. its now official, sad to see that Ballack is the shadow of his former self, the signs were there when Michael Carrick simply outplayed him..
