It wasn't a penalty either, but we're unlikely to agree on that.

I have no problems with admitting Ronaldo was poor yesterday. However bar Henry's goal he was by no means worse than the Diva.

How do I know he scared them? I've never seen anyone looking so stupid as Neville back pedalling twenty metres with Henry just ball at his feet, not even running.

Or at least that's what I thought but Rio did the same two minutes later.

    ok Biggrin

If you were as slow as Neville, you'd fear a push n run merchant like Henry. Only logical back off to the edge of the penalty area before attempting a challenge.

Of course, if the best thing Arsenal fans can say about their performances is that they enjoyed that moment when Neville backed off, what does that say about their football?

I saw Paul Devlin do it to a Stockport player when he was playing for Birmingham (this was even worse as the defender had just scored an OG) and I always thought he was a cunt and never took to him when he was with Watford.

where does the bitterness from henry stem pierre???

It was a tight and tense game between two of the biggest rivals.. henry and neville had been biting each others ear off all match made no better of course by the clear penalty (or not if u are a united fan) denied to him. this sort of thing happens every week.. if you wind a player up it is of course going to come back to haunt you if they win....

Its not bitterness - its dislike and resentment due to him being so arrogant, spoilt and pretentious.

Nothing you've said condones it (whatever went on between him and Neville) - its a no-no.

Henry isn't above the law, no one is saying so.

What amazes me is someone who calls himself a football fan wishing one of the best players in the league to break every bone in his body.

People are more likely to accept arrogance if there is a genuinely amazing talent behind it.

Besides, Totti is more a case of supreme self belief and confidence (see pen v Holland at Euro 2000 for confirmation) that is very different from arrogance.

Like I say, if faced with a quicker player than yourself, as a defender the natural thing to do is back off, leaving less space behind you for them to knock the ball into, and of course getting closer to the keeper so he can come out and try to block if the player gets past you.

Obviously you are easily pleased by whatever Henry does. Maybe it's a racial thing, I dunno.

I wish for Materazzi to get kicked in the balls, then stamped in the face, then elbowed in the nose. Then the same to happen to Cannavaro.

I don't know what Henry said to Neville. The fact is I don't think anyone really gives a fuck. Carragher gave Diouf all sorts of abuse in the Liverpool-Bolton game last season, and nobody gave a toss. I didn't give a toss. Part of football.

Just one question: Why was Diouf sent off for swearing at the ref, but not Rooney?

henry - one of the best talents in the last 20 years. Guus hiddink - one of the best coaches in the world- a big fan ok i'd rather take seriously what he says about him than someone like u who comes to a message board preaching hate against players. ok

worst of all, u come here defending someone who spits into opponents face, pushes his physio to the ground, refuses to play for national team because he thinks he is bigger than everyone.

Said the same myself when I saw Rooney start mouthing off.

Cant say I care though...Diouf deserves sending off every game.

Not fair to judge a player on his past.

    * Agooner - Hiddink's proven to be a great coach when working with limited players who he can get motivated.

Henry's physical qualities and work rate would be right up his street.

so he doesn't know who a great player is?

oh yes the 98 Dutch team were all limited players:erm:

    No, they were great players.

Which begs the question - why couldn't Hiddink get them to win the trophy ?

They were the best group of players there.

I ask again, are u saying Hiddink doesn't know a great player because he's only great at working with limited players?

Just one question: Why was Diouf sent off for swearing at the ref, but not Rooney?

That's a question I think most people are asking.

If he says that Henry is one of the greatest talents of the last 20 years then yes.
