Barrilete - please enlighten us with your (obviously more in-depth) knowledge of Maxi López.

I personally rate him highly and think he is going to prove many of his doubters wrong this year at Mallorca. He has great physique, determination, I think his skills have greatly improved, and he could be the perfect understudy to Eto'o (IMHO).

But you, as an Argentinian, may have a different viewpoint.

I rate him higly also toon, in fact I have bad memories of him playing for River against my team. Just pointes out how funny it was that he was one of the first to held the European Cup when he hadn't played much...in any tournament. I can't tell you anything that you probably don't know but, he is a very strong striker, wich is not strange but definitely not frecuent for an argentine striker. I expect him to do well at Mallorca also but after all this time without regularity or playing at all who knows how his football is?
I hope that all that time tringing next to Barça's players pays of

Who I definitely believe is a great forward and could do fantastic if he he got regularity for any team not necessarily Barça(he should pretend a lesser wage though) is "El pibito" Saviola(who will always be pibito, even if he's 90)

still, Maxi had a great goals+assists to minute ratio last year in any match he showed up in, and Rijkaard should have used him more even in Cup games or less important matches.

You could see he was learning from Ronnie and Eto' with regards his ball-handling and tricks, and that was good to see. He seems a decent guy as well. Good luck to him at Mallorca and really I hope to see him back at Barça.

Hello everyone, I'm back in America now after a fantastic summer, so my posting should finally be more regular, except of course now I'll be in a weird time zone again.

Anyway, things going well so far for Barca on the US tour. I'm not too happy with all the commercial and advertising stuff that the team has to do, but I guess money problems take their toll, and now is the time to capitalise on it since we're so popular and are the European champions. Selling out all our games is something exceptional, a "soccer" game almost never sells out here.

I don't care too much about the final results of games, and haven't watched any games so I can't comment on individual performances, but I actually think the two Super Cups are going to be harder than expected to win because of our lack of fitness of the World Cup players...and one last note, Gudjohnsen looks really good, scoring in every game.

that is true, but as ricky said we basically did the same thing last season when we tour china. the only differnce though a major one, is that the Schedule is jam pack this season, so thiere is less recovery time for the players especially the ones that we at the WC

Yes, I'm not too optimistic for the Spanish Super Cup next weekend...we have just one friendly to go and we haven't played a starting 11 with even half the regular starters. Plus factor in Aragones the idiot calling up Xavi, Puyol, and Iniesta for the Spain friendly, the World Cup players still gaining fitness, etc. and it's going to be a tough start to the season before everyone gets up to speed. Let's hope Espanyol are totally shit so that they beat themselves Laugh

Of course we make more money than boring-boring Chelsea and Madrid who are probably missing Franco these days.

I'm tired of these meaningless friendlies, can't wait for the game against L'Apaño.

    Barca Yellow VS Green.

YELLOW: Rubén, Belletti, Oleguer, Edmílson, Sylvinho, Iniesta, Deco, Ronaldinho, Gudjohnsen, Saviola and Giuly.

GREEN: Jorquera, Zambrotta, Thuram, Márquez, Gio, Motta, Xavi, Van Bommel, Ezquerro , Messi and Eto'o.

2 goals from messi and Eto'o for Barca Green and Guddy for Barca Yellow.

i know this is stupid, but i'm missing see barca play Competitively so much.

as you can see Zambo was playing on the right.

Too many to remember mate, I think it was 22 cities in 9 countries...went to all the major tourist cities, World Cup, everything. Prague should be great fun, some of my friends went there although I skipped it for an extra trip to Germany for the World Cup Smile

I'm very excited about our squad for the coming season for sure. I'm not very confident about trophies yet because I don't think our fitness levels are anywhere near where they should be especially with such a hectic start to the season. Let's hope we avoid injuries and the "squad" players can tide us through and win the first couple of trophies before the big guns get into their groove. I still think we can and should win La Liga, irrespective of Capel1-0 at RM and Valencia's impressive starting 11.
