Valencia and Inter we're after both Viduka and Kewell for offers of around £20 million.

No one would offer that for Bellamy, Kuyt or Crouch.

    totally agree.

Viduka at Leeds was one of the best strikers in the world for about two seasons to be honest - he was unplayable.

If he'd been English he'd probably have been valued at around £30m around that time

That was in the fucking past, jesus, Fowler is the best striker in the premiership then if we're going on the past

The talent is still there though, this season has proved that. He's just slower than he used to be, he's still strong, a great finisher, clever, and has great technique.

Viduka is better than Bellamy and Crouch. Kuyt is a supporting striker and Viduka is a better finisher.
So Viduka is a better fnisher, thus a better striker than all of them.

Viduka however wouldn't have gotten in the Liverpool XI last year, because he has no pace. Neither does Crouch but wins headers, Bellamy is pacier and Kuyt contributes more to the overall game and is faster than Viduka.

He wouldn't have gotten in the team unless it was played Bellamy-Viduka. Any other pool striker and Viduka combination wouldn't have worked.
And Rafa doesn't like players who don't contribute to the team one way or another - Viduka is a target man and is lazy as well.

To recap: Viduka is a better striker and no, he wouldn't have played in last year's liverpool XI.

Crouch and Kuyt I'd rather have, and that's my own opinion, if you disagree fine, but I think I'll be proven right next season

RVP scored 11 goals in 17 games this season lulu - as a goals per game ration thats pretty impressive.

He also has the class that Viduka as with the ball at his feet, which none of the Liverpool players have

The stats back me up, the only thing you've got is bias. Viduka has huge talent, you would see that if you watched teams outside of Liverpool. ok

it is a bit like saying fowler should have started for us all season because he was the best striker at the club kimbo

moments of inspiration combined with minimal effort are not really much use. crouch and kuyt both offer more than him at present so it's fair to say he would not currently get in our starting lineup. as a third/fourth choice (voronin type) striker I would be very happy to have had him though.

he'll go down as a bit of a wasted talent

End of the day, people were only taking goals into consideration with Viduka and Kuyt so I did the same with RVP and Kuyt, and for the 10th time it was Kuyt's first season in the premiership, 12 premiership goals and a European cup final goal isn't too bad for a first season

Viduka played less goals than Kuyt, in a worse team AND scored more!

Kuyt certainly isn't a bad player, he's very good in fact. But Viduka is also a good player - equal to or better (at present) than Kuyt

    of course not
