Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle is pleased with his loan spell at Recreativo de Huelva, but is unsure whether he will be making a permanent switch.

The Frenchman left Anfield in the summer to try his luck for the season with newly-promoted La Liga outfit Recre and has really caught the eye with his performances in Spain.

Indeed, like his club - who sit seventh in La Primera challenging for a European place - Sinama-Pongolle has proved one of the revelations of the Spanish season, netting seven goals to date.

He is just three behind the club's record top-flight haul (10 by Raul Molina), and has achieved that without being a regular starter in recent weeks.

Having been restored to Recre's starting line-up last weekend, he duly obliged with the second goal in a 2-1 home win over Villarreal and insists he has no problems with manager Marcelino's selection policy.

"If I have not been in the starting XI for the last few weeks it's because of the competition we have here," he explained.

"Here you have to wait for your opportunity and I hope to have demonstrated to the coach that he can count on me."

The 22-year-old is more than happy with life in Spain but remains cautious about the prospect of a permanent move from Liverpool.

Indeed, he remains in close contact with Reds boss Rafa Benitez who is maintaining a close eye on his progress.

"I am happy here, but my future depends on an agreement between Recre and Liverpool," he continued.

"We don't know what will happen because I understand two businessmen have just bought Liverpool.

"Everything depends on whether the ball keeps going in the net."

Of Benitez, he added: "He always rings me when I score and asks me how I am. We get on well and he gives me advice"

Hannah and Lynsey are friends I have/had that come from there. I have driving lessons in llanelli also, which may be another reason I hate it. It's just an awful, awful place.

I know I've been going on about it a fair bit but I just want to try and get a sense of your opinions on the mascherano saga, because i've been browsing a few Liverpool fans sites, mainly RAWK, and the general opinion is that people are extremely incensed by the Premiers league's indecisiveness, Fifa have cleared us to sign Mascherano and the premier league were origionally going to make the decisions as to whether or not he could play for Liverpool on monday, they then delayed that today but what have we got? nothing, not even an explanation by the premier league, there's no mention of him on the official site, and saturdays game with Newcastle is a game where he could of actually started seeing as Alonso is suspended.

It's by far the strangest transfer saga i can remember

George Gillett admits he is on a mission to win the respect of every Kopite in the world.
And the American has sent this message to the millions of Liverpool fans around the globe: "Come talk to me."

He said: "I want to earn the respect of the fans. My message to them is to give us a few years and we'll see where it takes us. Give us a little time and we are going to have some fun together.

"When I go to Anfield I'm going to be on the streets in front of the stadium talking to fans. When I'm at the ice hockey if I see an empty seat during the interval I go and sit there to talk to the fans, and I will do the same here.

"When I arrived in Liverpool I picked up a paper and there were four or five letters to the editor about us from people who don't even know us. I've asked my people to get numbers for those fans and I will ring them personally."

Co-owner Tom Hicks moved to reassure fans their club is in safe hands.
He said: "This is not a takeover like the Glazer deal at Manchester United. There is no debt involved, and we believe that as custodians of this wonderful club, we have a duty of care to the tradition and legacies of Liverpool."

The PR team behind these two have being doing their job well over the past few days. all good

Jamie Carragher has revealed his conversations with George Gillett and Tom Hicks left him convinced the club is in the right hands for the future.
Carragher met both men the night before they were officially unveiled as the club's new co-chairmen, and he believes the Reds are now well placed to move to the next level.

"All the players have been talking to each other for the last few days and we're all excited this is going to move the club forward," he said.

"We're hoping it's going to help us get to the level of Manchester United. It would be nice to think we'll have as much money as Chelsea, but I think that's unrealistic. Being able to compete in the transfer market with United would be good enough, and being able to sign players of the calibre they've managed in the last ten years would make a big difference.

"I look at it as a supporter as much as a player, and the main thing is to have a great team competing for honours every year in a brilliant new stadium. That's a legacy which will serve the club for the next 100 years and our children and grandchildren will enjoy.

"We only spoke for ten to fifteen minutes on Monday night. They just told me and Stevie the same things as were mentioned in the press conference, telling us they had the interests of the club at heart and want to bring success to the club. That's all you want to hear, really.

"It was a privilege. We're just players really, so for them to feel they should come and speak to us was great for us.

"Now we're all delighted it's all sorted. I'm particularly pleased for the chairman that the club has put all this behind it now.

"I was at a function with him on Saturday night for Kenny Dalglish, and he was telling me how he's been having sleepless nights.

"He's spoken a lot about the trophies he has won, and the one thing we should remember is he's won every trophy as chairman except the Premiership.

"It always winds me up a bit when I hear people talking about needing a change to bring the trophies back to Anfield. We've won lots of trophies under David Moores. There aren't many clubs who’ve won as much as us lately.

"It's just that we all know the one we want most of all, and obviously there's the money we need for the stadium. That's the reason he's stepped down as chairman. It's got nothing to do with his record in charge.

    LLama

"What we need in the future is what every top side needs. Good players who are capable of winning us the Premiership."

I like how competitive they're going to make us. The Ronaldo signing is sure to be a great one. Torres too... I wonder who else we'll get? Probably Alves. That'll be enough I think. Maybe Kaká to complete things?

    - - - - - - - - - - Reina
    Alves - Carragher - Agger - Aurelio
    - - - - - Alonso - Mascherano
    - Gerrard - Luis Garcia* - Ronaldo

If the English media are never wrong you really should be worried:

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is considering a cheeky bid for Manchester United wing ace Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Daily Mail says Benitez is pondering an enquiry for the Portuguese star after being told by the club's new co-owners that he will have mega bucks to spend during the summer market.
