Kuyt is good and all, but what's the use of a "striker" who just "works hard". That's all I ever hear about him. Score some goals then we'll accept it universally. Right now I agree with those who say that he's good but not that good, and other Liverpool players were much better than him tonight.

just seen this...mental. If you thought Arsenal was bad
We haven't heard the end of it. They played the video again and it looked like Toldo (?) actually got through....
Yeah that's who they said it was on sky. Crazy stuff.

Shame there wasn't quite the same modesty from others. Still... I can't be bothered to go and dig up old threads. I said we'd go through and we'd easily counter your style and I think we did. Even when you scored tonight, you never really looked like doing so again afterwards.
Oi I also said I wanted to avoid English teams.. I wanted Italian/Portuguese/French..

Don't worry, I bet Luis will be on here soon winding everyone up. I agree, I too said that tactically and psychologically and all other factors considered, we have no chance. The only thing that can win it for us is if our 11 players play 100% on the field and outplay you. But that didn't happen. And Sissoko did happen.

Yeah, only Messiah was optimistic. He was already planning his windups and we had to tell him to calm down.

Well played Barcelona, towards the end they showed what they can do, however i feel and the result reflects, that we deserved to progress.
Is there a chance we will get Valencia next ? wouldn't that be interesting

I think you're favourites to win now. The only problem would be if your players mess up on the pitch through losing concentration or missing easy chances. Valencia won't be as hard as us.

I completely agree and no hard feelings from our side..
I don't think you should wish for Valencia, they are very tricky side to play.. you are better off against Chelsea then (if you can get them).. but anyways best of luck for the rest of the tournament..

Man. Utd. will only win it if they get English sides IMO. Unless they drastically improve the level they've shown so far this season in Europe.
And as for Chelsea, they almost choked against Porto today and from what I hear were helped by a huge mistake from the Porto keeper.

underhype!
You're top of the EPL, in which you have been dominant.
What makes you say that? the fact you have two chokers that the rest of the team are having to carry?

Don't have the brains. Too cagey in Europe (See Celtic game) when we should be going for the throat and could never be trusted to keep a clean sheet.

This is worse than any Lyon hype.

We don't have a clinical enough striker, Rooney and Ronaldo haven't mastered the Champions league yet and Carrick has been pretty much shite in every CL game so far.
It's really only been our defence (apart from Celtic) and Scholes, Saha and Giggs that have got us through so far.

Not really.
Rooney and Ronaldo may not have scored yet but their class players and will one day score - it may well be in the q/f or semis

Tweedle, motivation is a big x-factor in winning the CL. Last year that was what won us the games against Chelsea, and same for them this year. After beating us, Liverpool have motivation and belief as well. Otherwise their season is trophyless. Whereas Man. Utd. are more interested in the Premiership this year. Frankly, they're not even in the top 4 favourites.

Fuck you Barcelona, now Lyon have lost as well, and probably Lille tomorrow, I'm going to have to hide from obispo.

They are certainly not the Barca of last year. Shows you why teams hardly ever retain the CL, after one win you get complacent...etc

Barca threw the game - so terrified they were of drawing the mighty Bayern Munchen and their watertight defence.
