so good luck and another season without title ^^
Barca threw the game - so terrified they were of drawing the mighty Bayern Munchen and their watertight defence.

Barca and Inter are my favourite non-German teams, but neither deserved to go through really
Barca were so disappointing tonight
overslept the first 45 minutes
they are not nearly direct enough; a bit like Argentina; endless passing leading to nothing
Rijkaard HAS to go
Liverpool are nothing special either, but just manage to hang in there; reminds me of the Nationalmannschaft at the 86 World Cup; stuff like this can get you places

I really think Barcelona seemed to believe in their invicibility. This team, 2 years in the making reached their Zenith last season. They'll need to take a step back and realise that "party" football won't always work.

Despite having the majority of the good chances?
The only 'hung in there' for the last 15 minutes

They are certainly not the Barca of last year. Shows you why teams hardly ever retain the CL, after one win you get complacent...etc
Well, we had many other problems this season (don't forget the injuries and the stupid pre-season), but you're partly right. Winning the CL involves so many extra factors and luck, that it's become a huge pinnacle, and after it there's the feeling of having nothing left to achieve.

congrats Liverpool.
it just shows football is a physical game where you have to be at 100% physically, have to be 100% focused and up for it.
there are too many players off form and Liverpool is an Atlético/Zaragoza type team that always cause us problems.
I still don't see Liverpool as favourites for the title though. It is just too unpredictable.

Amidst all the winding up of Deisler, he's right on one point - there is no opponent more perfect for Liverpool and Benitez than us. Not belittling their win, but pointing out that they should always have been favourites.

Frankly, they're not even in the top 4 favourites.
You know what, i also innitially dismissed their chances of winning it but i have realised i was stupid to do so. Being favourite mean fuck all in the ko stages of the C L as the Barca, lyon and inter results have shown.

With all due respect Kas, nice spin... but you are the Champions, how one earth could we possibly be favourites ?
We may not be ideal opposition for you, but favourites ? pull the other one...

Poor run of results and a new system he introduced a couple of games ago. I think that makes you favourites.

Was a decent match, but I predicted that liverpool would have gone through anyway. Barca just lacks the physics to be a major team for international football. MotM: Dirk Kuyt!

Yes, by starting nearly twice as many games.
Saha has got 4 in Europe to be fair.

Like I said, the mass media and general opinion will always be that we are favourites. But only those who know the entire story behind Benitez's history against us, Liverpool's playing style, our performances this season, our injury and fitness problems, would acknowledge that Liverpool were indeed more likely to go through.

I'd only say we've got a chance as alot of the favourites have gone out.
Other than Chelsea, there's no team I'd be scared of. Still don't think we'd win it though.

Yep - doesn't appear to be a great motivator either and is flakey under pressure.
I take it its someone else who decides what players they sign ?
