Was gerrard fouled?L r d wrote:Liverpool getting a penalty for the first goal made the game easier. The refs seem to be giving them all season for pool.
This was basically your argument for why man utd were top not long ago ffs
Honest answer plz...
Bear in mind there is only one correct answer
Good luck

I love how Gerrard's getting blamed for the first penalty, not Kozluk for continuing to use the arms right under the referees nose.
How 'tarded do you have to be fuck sakes? Perhaps some of the United fans could answer that...

Because he didn't need to fall over, there was no force.
He cheated.

And Kozluk didn't need to have his arms there. Cause and effect my friend.

Something should be done about it really.
He probably would of tried it against us if he actually got to touch the ball.

apart from bragging rights this match means nothing: liverpoo will finish 3 or 4th and utd have won the title so this is just another meaningless end of season match up with little to play for. wouldnt be too surprised to see liverpool rest top players with CL in mind as that is all they can win this season.

My dream game...
Ronaldo dismissed for persistent diving after 30 mins.
For an hour we batter United but are unable to score. They are saved by the woodwork, deflections off defender's arses, etc etc.
In the 92nd minute Gary Neville is booked for holding Gerrard (who blatantly dives). Gary Nev is sent off for a second yellow.
Fowler scores the winning penalty.
Realistically:
Ferguson cares more about it than Benitez. 1-1, or 2-1 United.

Thing is, normally going to Anfield you'd except a draw. However with the title so close you can almost touch it, it's hard not to be greedy and want the win.

which is why I don't really accept this approach that we won't be taking it seriously.
the fans will be baying for blood
gerrard, carragher, riise, finnan and the players that are aware of the rivarly will be giving everything they have to try to stop united edging closer to the title
the only person who may not give it 100 percent is benitez but as long as he puts out a full side ill be happy.
defeat would be acceptable as it won't make much difference to our season but it is unthinkable to help united towards the title so a win plz rafa

I think it will be a draw, although if Rooney and Giggs play well we we can win. I dont think Ronaldo will have a good game as he will be heavily marked and Rafa will instruct Sissoko to kick him every time he gets the ball, like the last game at Anfield. This will create more space for Rooney and Giggs.
I would consider playing 4-3-3, as Fletcher owned Alonso and Sissoko at the OT game.
Carrick
Fletcher -------Scholes
Ronaldo--------------------Giggs
Rooney

So whats your teams then for Saturday?
I'm guessing we'll play the usual 11 with just the decision over Saha and Larsson, hopefully he goes for Saha.
However I would be tempted to go for the exact team we beat Liverpool with early season, except Ronaldo for Giggs.
VDS
Nev Rio Vida Evra
Fletch MC Scholes Ronnie
Rooney Saha
Yes Giggs will be pissed off, yes the papers will bang on about it but Fletcher can do the role of destroyer excellently, allowing Carrick and Scholes to run the game and Ronaldo, Rooney and Saha to run riot.

Gerrard on red alert
Steven Gerrard is desperate to stop Manchester United going 12 points clear at the top of the league when the sides meet at Anfield on Saturday.
While Liverpool are currently 16 points behind United and their chances of becoming champions are all but over, Gerrard is adamant that his team-mates will not allow their rivals to take a massive leap towards clinching the title on their home ground without a fight.
"They will be coming to Anfield this weekend looking for maximum points because that would virtually win them the league," he said on Liverpool's official website.
"We've got to make sure we get the points and keep the title race going for as long as possible. It's not over at the moment and that's why this is a massive game for both clubs."
He did admit, however, that United's overall quality will make it a very difficult game.
"It hurts to say this, but they have been playing some really good attacking football this season. They are also really hard to beat because they have some great defenders.
"The rivalry for this fixture has got bigger and bigger over the years and the games are built up more and more. As a player, these are the games you want to play in.
"But I am in the city among all the banter and I know our fans are desperate to take the three points this weekend."
