It was an awesome team, some brilliant talent, still their win over Milan was considered more of an upset.

Just go back a few years back prior to 1991 and you'll find the awesome '88-'89 Milan team. What a team!
Anyway, from your list it's difficult to separate a number of teams, but these are my strongest teams:
'92-'93 Marseille were the real "Dream Team", and not Barcelona of those years.
'94-'95 Ajax were a good team, but got even better next year.
'95-'96 Ajax were better than the team that won it all the year before, but lost to the "home" factor (in Rome) against Juventus on PK's.
'96-'97 Juventus were better than the team that beat Ajax on PK's the year before, but lost to the "home" factor (in Munich) against Dortmund. It's damn hard to repeat even when the team's supposedly better.
'01-'02 Real Madrid were just awesome!
'05-'06 Barcelona were spectacular!
It's worth noting that La Liga placed THREE teams in Final Four during '99-'00, and Serie A did the same astonishing feat in '02-'03.

Regarding Juventus great '96-'97 team, I remember Lippi got too conservative by benching Del Piero only to bring him on after going down 2-0. Del Piero scored soon after, but Juventus lost the Final.
It's obvious Lippi learned from this mistake when we all witnessed how he kept attacking Germany during last WC 2006. No more conservative BS from Lippi this time, and he redeemed himself with a nice WC trophy somewhat avenging the loss from that fantastic Juventus '96-97. That Juve team are probably one of the strongest teams that did not win CL.

they were fairly unlucky what with Zidane hitting the post and Vieri having that goal disallowed. They created alot during the game and generally had the better of play. The first 2 goals they conceded were pretty soft, and i believe the first was actually offside.

i voted RM of 2002 but i didnt see milan in their prime so its not a fair judgement. allthought the team we had in 2003 was better then the one that won 2002.

They beat them 3 times without conceding a goal - once in Milan, once in Amsterdam and once on neutral territory as well as blitzing Bayern 5-2.
Ajax are definately the best CL winners.
They would do the Madrid team of 01/02 as they could match the skill of the Spaniards but with considerably more pace in the attacking areas.
