FA Cup Quarter-Final Empty FA Cup Quarter-Final

    Post by S4P Wed Mar 07, 2007 7:59 pm

Maybe a bit premature, but I guess there's no harm in starting the banter early.

Just the one game on Saturday: Middlesborough v Man Utd. As with every other United FA Cup game this season, this game will be on the BBC. KO 17:30.

    Sunday:

    Chelsea v Tottenham 12:30 (BBC1)
    Blackburn v Man City 16:00
    Plymouth v Watford 18:00 (BBC1)

Out of the 4 games, I expect Man Utd, Chelsea, Blackburn and Watford should prevail, although with Boro still in the comp we're guaranteed at least 1 replay.

I'm rather coy. Chelsea's defence has got stronger since th League Cup Final, but I'm sure Berbatov can create a few good chances in the match for us.

Spurs, Boro and Plymouth to go through hopefully. Big 4 finals are awful except when Liverpool go behind.

Gareth Williams is cup-tied so don't expect us to string more than 2 passes together at any point during the game.

    I'd take a replay.

Anything less than a 2 goal win and I'd be gutted.

Really starting to think being knocked out wouldn't be a bad thing at the moment.

To put it to the test, I went on Pro Evo last night...played two games Boro vs United on the highest setting.

I won the first game 3-0 and the second game 4-1.

Therefore the score will obviously be 7-1 to us.

Don't worry we're not underestimating them. It'll be very tight, like most games against Boro are.

I kinda have a soft spot for them because they repeatedly managed to beat big teams (e.g. Chelsea 3:0). I usually always root for the "underdogs", unless my team is involved at least. Very Happy

I'll say it now Coop, so you don't think I'm using it as an excuse. Razz

Going out wouldn't exactly be the end of the World for us what with the games to come and the injuries we have.

Still would like to win of course and will be pissed if we lose. Just letting you know your wind ups won't work. Very Happy

I think the annoyed one is you with them dwindling attendances and decreasing TV ratings or so they said last time (SKY) I tried watching a FA Cup match (there were no other matches at the time). You must be one of the few fans who care about this hyped up cup according to the SKY fellows. They were discussing ways to spark interest in this cup. True story! <Ale>

Hmm? Middlesbrough last season didn't give a fuck about it (actually handing West Ham a ticket to the final), and Reading (of all teams) don't give a fuck about it too. lol! <Ale>

We did give a fuck, clearly, dont talk shit Puro. We were quite obviously thinking about the UEFA Cup game a few days later, but to say we didnt give a fuck..is quite frankly a retarded thing to say. I can only assume you arent actually retarded.

West Ham also, gave a fuck in that game...as did Liverpool in the final. We also give a fuck this season, United also want to win, as do Watford and Plymouth, and Chelsea and Spurs...and Blackburn and City, and all the other teams who have come and gone.

Hmm, i don't know what sky has to do with the FA Cup, all they get is the odd replay. The BBC get big ratings, that's FACT, and the English care about the competition, that's FACT. I'm English and i live in England, i know these things. <Ale> Biggrin
