Adeabayor's wasn't unintentional. all he said was that it was almost as though the move was an instinctive out of body experience. He didn't think about what to do, it just happened.

Adebayor lashed at the ball acrobatically and it happened to go in.

There's a significant difference, regardless of what games we might play with semantics and double negatives.

The ball could have swerved either way though, like his freekicks. If the keeper dives earlier to his right he could have looked very foolish if it swerves the other way. These new balls eh.

By 'decent goalie' do you just mean Casillas or Buffon?

What Eredivisie goalies do you know ?

I think Moreno & Veldhuizen would have kept it out.

Vorm and Pieckenhagen are a maybe.

Luciano is probably too short, but he makes incredible saves so you never know.

Van der Sar would have easily saved it.

I'll have to watch it again. Personally, I think you're just trying to undermine what was quite frankly a brilliant strike.

If RVP had struck that you'd be waxin' lyrical about it and certainly wouldn't be berating the keeper.

I only saw it on 101 goals today, didn't see the match yesterday...

Before I saw it both colleagues, who saw it on tv, said "if he had scored that against Van der Sar, we all would have been very disappointed and blamed Edwin".

They're less anti-Ronaldo than I am, so it seemed logical to follow them on that call.
