Geremi should have cost £20million alone (Champions League winner and all that), but the fact he played for Middlesborough knocked his value down substantially.

    Ferreira, well...

IMo even that's too much honour. First I want to see plenty of English youngsters, who started at the academy at an early age. Buying 15-17 year olds is hardly an achievement of our academy. They were good before they signed, that's not homegrown.

I agree. That's probaly why we can't get the talented English youngsters. Until 10-15 years ago Feyenoord had the same problem as Arsenal, Sparta had one of the best youth academies in Holland. Youngsters were advised to choose Sparta over Feyenoord beforehand. Unless Arsenal don't come up with examples of youngsters joining at an early age and reaching the top, that will not change.

Those 15/16 year old foreign players learned everything outside Arsenal. In general real world beaters are already good at 15. If our academy was good enough, we would have to bring in less players.
