    ok good job Ale

    Bring on Valencia ! Fighting

Not sure on Alonso, he gave the ball away a lot but Mascherano was class

I'm talking about off the ball, we retained possession relatively well all over the park, and it wasn't vintage Alonso, however off the ball both were fabulous. We gave PSV no time to create any rythm. That was the key in my opinion.

If PSV have everyone healthy, then they're a tough out. When they start missing two players and/or have players who aren't 100% fit then it's a different story. They just don't have the bench to compete with the big boys from La Liga, Serie A or EPL. <Ale>

Very true. PSV's quality goes quickly down once they miss a few starters. Same goes for most Dutch top clubs, maybe the least for AZ, wjho have a decent bench. It's a trade off and a gamble to invest most of your money in your starting 11, but it's about the only chance we have if we want to compete with bigger nations/more wealthy leagues/clubs.

I dunno why, but I just love the Spanish "double question mark", especially the funky first one that is upside down.

'I've asked for a sofa and they've brought me a lampshade'.

Referring to when Valencia bought Cannobio to the Mestalla instead of the defender which he had asked. This was one of the reasons why he left.

And yes, McCann is underrated. Momo's the Marathon Man

If Liverpool don't win the CL it would be a serious failure for them. Don't misunderstand this as me over-reacting to this relatively easy win against an injury-hit and off-form side, but you can tell from the way the Liverpool players are approaching CL games that they really want it and this is now the main aim of the season. The only problem I can see for them is if Man. Utd. reach the final.

I agree with you! PSV didn't believe in it. The atmosphere is very negative since the loss against Ajax! If that was not the case they would have beaten Liverpool! Liverpool are no class team! Unbelievable that such a moderate team is in the semi Finals.

But, with such a pussy attitude you do not deserve to become champions! This would never have happened to Ajax. They are arrogant enough to believe in its selves every single day no matter how good they are.

Chelsea are owed a victory over us in a semi-final. Much rather Valencia from an entertainment perspective. Chelsea 3 years in a row is just too much. Rafa back at his old club, before Milan in the final would be lovely.

Still, Chelsea are misfiring this year and not as good as past years. And if Valencia go through and are still 6 points behind the leaders in La Liga, the CL will be equally important to them as it is for you, and that extra motivation takes away one of the advantages you would otherwise have over Chelsea.

I want chelsea. Rafa will be able to plan for them much more easily and they'll offer less problems and variety

chelsea will never play us off the park whereas valencia have the potential to do so.

plus chelsea - liverpool will be the better occasion

although I am wary of obi's point about the law of averages. after knocking them out of the Fa cup and CL then they may just be due one

Hmm... Rafa goes back to his old club, in a champions league semi-final ... or we play against a team that has one song, which no one sings, and has to hand out plastic flags to their fans to create atmosphere...

    Hmm.

Sick of playing Chelsea. I don't hate them, so I just find it a tedious occasion because they're a good team and we usually cancel each-other out for the majority of the match. Would rather play Valencia and use the anfield atmosphere to convince Miguel and Villa to sign in the summer.

Still, if we do play Chelsea, I'm sure we'll hear the inevitable "Fuck off Chelsea FC, you ain't got no history".

good to see you have returned in such a cheery mood for us all obi Wink

The fans will be more up for a chelsea rematch IMO no doubt stoked by mourinho's bullshit in the press in the lead up to the game which will make it all a better occasion. A valencia tie would be fairly low key (not a bad thing either and the way rafa likes it).

Id just be more confident of us beating chelsea than valencia but either way a semi final of the CL is a brilliant occasion

Am in a good mood CotR. Just don't think I could bare another semi against Chelsea. Not sure Valencia would be low-key. Rafa'd have to beat the club he left to cement his legend with his current club - would be great.

I'm not convinced of beating Chelsea. Maybe we do have something of a mark over them, We've won 3 of the last 5. The only two we've lost have been at Stamford Bridge. Wouldn't fancy playing them for a fourth time this season though.

I'd rather watch Carragher pocket Villa.

what did you make of the game BTW

Mascherano is quickly becoming our best player Wink

Big blow with auerlio out. he was close to matching the threat finnan gives us down the other side. the only positive from it being that it will probably force rafa to play a winger instead of two fullbacks

kuyt is beginning to really bug me. so much so that bellamy, crouch is now probably my favoured pairing. nice options to have all over the pitch now though
