Big blow with auerlio out. he was close to matching the threat finnan gives us down the other side. the only positive from it being that it will probably force rafa to play a winger instead of two fullbacks

kuyt is beginning to really bug me. so much so that bellamy, crouch is now probably my favoured pairing. nice options to have all over the pitch now though

Thought the game was alright. Kinda cruised in 3rd gear and everytime we upped the tempo they looked like they'd concede. Can't ask for more.

All of our strikers have pissed me off at various stages this season. Crouch has shown though that if you fizz the ball in the box, he can head the ball. Just a shame that Pennant and Finnan's crosses usually come down with snow on top.

If Pennant could provide more of a goalthreat I'd be tempted to stick to the 4-2-3-1 we used against Arsenal for the rest of the season. He can't and won't though, which is part of his problem. If only we had a fit Garcia.


Edit: wasn't it amazing to see Stevie score from the centre last night? I swear I was told he couldn't do that starting from the right. Shocking.

The worst performance I have seen yet in the CL

We didnt even have to get out of second gear.

gerrard and kuyt were strolling around the pitch laughing near the end of the game.

the only good thing kuyt did was the brilliant booking

And Pool isn't even using him correctly.. he stated in the world cup that he felt much more comfortable as the lone pivote, not as a part of a triple pivote..

But as a consolation.. we need a bigger guy there, someone who can head, since the other midfielders can't help with it..
