    I expect maduro to be one of the stars of the tournamenet. He's a very talented footballer that has stagnated( regressed) in his development for the past year

    Its now a vowel in Englsih but imagine br-i-ns, but the i part like the i from bite. That sounds the closest in English.

    Same as the closest pronounciation of Kuyt isn't 'kowt' (nowhere near actually), but plain 'kite'.
