Re: De Ja Vu Liverpool vs Chelsea Discussion
I'm surprisingly happy with that. I knew that Liverpool would come out all guns blazing for the first 20-30 minutes, and thought that if we could go in at half-time not losing (on aggregate), we'll still probably go through. Last 15 minutes have been very even. I expect it to be very even for the 2nd half.

Re: De Ja Vu Liverpool vs Chelsea Discussion
Poor, poor game, Gerrard ineptly punting the ball about, Cech responding likewise.
Well taken goal by Agger, the one piece of quality in the game. Such a shame the lad has fallen into the Tramp-Stamp culture at Anfield and has vandalized his arm.
Rafa has got his tactics spot-on, again. It really is remarkable what he can do with what is, truth be told, a shockingly limited team. Chelsea crept back into it towards the end though, and this man may prove decisive;

Its astounding how well mascherano is playing in an attacking(ish) midfield considering how little games he has played against english opposition. Odd misplaced past but great at tackling and along with agger, can start attacks well.

Shockingly limited is a bit harsh waft - they lack anyone that can put their foot on the ball and create something though. They need Tevez!

Re: De Ja Vu Liverpool vs Chelsea Discussion
The first 20 minutes were really good, but after Aggers goal it turned into hoof and rush football. It was fast and exciting at first but someone needs to tell the players that the ball wont explode if they hold on to it for more than 5 seconds.
Seriously the anount of Hoofs is ridiculous, Liverpool are probably allowed to get away with it, as they dont have the individual quality of Chelsea, but whats Chelseas excuse. If Chelsea actually started playing football, they would create some chances, as Liverpool are commiting players forward (never thought I would write that).
I think Chelsea have weathered the onslaught and look like they will grab a goal and probably kill the tie. However you never know with Stevie G on the pitch.

Really?
The are packed with average, jobbing players, you know precisely what they'll do in any situation. The only potential for spontaneity in the entire team is from a Gerrard smash-and-hope. If this is the way to European "glory", God help us spectators.

This is 2 English teams, so it was hardly likely to be a goal-fest. The league games have produced some goals (1-4 and a couple of 2-0's).
