There was an incident last night where Luke Young put the ball into the box from the half way line and it was just the two Bent's in the box. Marcus goes to win the header at the far post and beats King and rather than Darren be there ready for the knock down, he decided to run to the other post. Doh

TeamSpirit™ wrote:What - 17 goals this season? Despite only having 6 weeks as the no.1 starter - pretty impressive if you ask me.

Still think we should sell him for an over-inflated fee mind.

He's got great ability - but he just plays like he has the binders on.

    17?

He's got 8 in the league, 1 in the FA cup, 3 in the Carling Cup and 1 in the UEFA cup hasn't he? so 13.

His games-per-goals ratio is 3.38, comapred to Bent's 2.38. I know that many of Defoe's have been as a sub.

Bent has got 14 in all comps

    9 in the league

    3 in the Uefa

    3 in the Carling Cup

    1 in the F.A Cup.

2 for England in qualifiers (would be a 3rd, but Nugent stole it)

    That's 18.

We'll see how Bent does next season playing for a club playing reasonably - last season I seem to remember him doing pretty well in fact.

Playing for a relegated club always makes it harder and its hardly Bent's fault they've gone down - 12 goals is a decent total - fourth highest in the EPL in fact.

Defoe has 8 goals from 19 starts in the league - and 1 from his 13 times as a sub.

    So 9 in 32.

Bent has 12 from 31 starts.

Bent = Darker-Skninned Agbonlahor. But then again Tweeds... you do love your pace-merchants Wink

Is defoe finally going to leave Spurs? Surely he wont be content with sitting on the bench every week again next season should Berbatov stay

In hope Pompey or Villa put in a £12m+ bid for Defoe.

If we can get £15m+ from selling Defoe & Mido, and get Anelka in for around £7m-£8m, it'd be genius.

You forgot the £20m+ you'll be getting for Berbatov.

With that £35m you should be able to get a decent CB, a central midfielder and a strike partner for Keane.

If it was me I'd go for Andrade, Arteta and Huntelaar

We bought Anelka for 8 million pounds, we're not gonna sell him for a loss, are we?

Depends - City lost £6m on him... Fenerbache only gained £1m.

Hopefully he'd cost no more than £9m - and you know his brothers can make a deal like that happen if they wanted.

On the other hand, even with Allardyce leaving, I can't see Anelka leaving for anything less than a top 4 club. Let's be honest, between our two clubs at the moment there isn't that much difference, and Anelka look s as though he's settled. We don't have to sell, he's on a 4 year contract. So I'm thinking that it'd be somewhere around 12 million pounds.

The thing is though that Bolton have had a terrible year so far. Since January they have won only 4 of their 16 games and conceeded a shed load of goals losing 3-0 at Liverpool, 4-1 U*d, 5-1 Boro, 3-1 West Ham, 3-1 Reading and 4-1 Tottenham.

They will also lose ben haim in the summer and maybe Anelka, Stelios and Campo. Whilst next season they will be without Faye, Meite and Diouf for the African Nations Cup.

With Big Sam leaving its going to be a massive job for Sammy Lee and i think unless they can keep their squad together and add a couple more decent players i think they will struggle next season.

If we can keep Anelka and Diouf we should be fine. I think that maybe Lee can finally change our formation and play with a front two (Davies and Anelka), and push Faye back up to midfield; Meaning that with a proper LW we have a great team.

Our problem recently have been injuries and just tiring legs (Campo, Speed). Hopefully if we can get rid of Campo, we might not have this problem next season.
