I've watched quite a few Chelsea games recently and can't see what the fuss is about Mikel. He's been pretty good but overall I wouldn't give him over 7/10.

Forget the talentless Sissoko and the tactically naive Diaby, Mikel is the real New Vieira. Essien is also still relatively young so in 2/3 years this midfield is gonna be too good. affraid

    Not very creative though.

He doesn't have to be, if we're gonna play Essien in midfield, and at least 1 wide player.

After tonight, this is the midfield I'd like to see next season:

    Joe Cole--Mikel--Essien--Robben

With SWP getting more and more minutes.

If only Robben and JC could be fit at the same time though. Rolling Eyes
As said this before but you questioned where all the goals are gonna come from. Glad you're finally realising how $h!t Lampard is (although he was surprisingly good against us for about 20 mins).

young player, 1st season in the prem, and hasn't played competitively for a year yet he has fitted into a struggling side(for fluidity). He's been better than most midfielders and IMO that includes Carrick.

Jose will still be reluctant to drop Lampard , still he has scored 20+ this season .. and that may be good enough for Jose to start him

Chelsea should go back to their 4-3-3 formation ; but Ballack + Sheva must be dealt with.

    ----------------- Essien
    ---------- Ballack* - Lampard
    -------- J.Cole --------- Robben
    ----------------- Drogba
    * or Mikel

    lol! lol! lol!

    SAF PWNES JM Again! Laughing

Not really. In fact, it was pretty disgraceful, yet if we hadn't done it, the press would have been after our blood.

Fergie should have sent the likes of Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs etc onto the pitch (even if it were in their suits) to receive this guard of honour. In a way, I'm very disappointed about this.

As for the penalty shout, I don't think Essien touches him. Even if he did, it doesn't excuse the fact Eagles should've been sent off almost immediately after.

Poll once again proves he is the worst referee in the league. Somehow he manages to make controversy out of a meaningless game.

Another game where we didn't take chances.

    Ratings:

    Cudicini 6 - f@ck all to do.
    Ferreira 5 - Still unconvincing.
Essien 6 - Rarely troubled, but a couple of rash moments.
Terry 6.5 - Very comfortable evening.
Bridge 7 - > Ashley Cole, but I know who I'd prefer to face Ronaldo.
    Makelele 6 - A few misplaced passes.
Diarra 6 - Got forward a couple of times, needs to improve final ball.
Mikel 7.5 - Gonna dominate midfields for years to come. Not far off from being something special already. My MOTM today, although he made a shocking tackle.
Sinclair 4 - Needs to improve his upper body strength.
SWP 7 - A couple of world class crosses. Think he may become more and more involved in this setup.
Kalou 5 - A few moments of quality, but rarely troubled.

It was a penalty, I was hoping Fergie would make a cheeky comment about teams not getting penalties at the Bridge.

It wasnt a red card, if you actually watch it again, it wasnt red card material.

I dont think any player deserves higher than a 5, everyone player on the pitch was absolutely terrible. Mikel did ok in the first half, however playing against a talentless forward in midfield, he was always going to look good.

Ps the guard of honour was funny

Struggling side affraid , he plays for one of the top teams in the world!!! A start of the season Chelsea were favourates for the title and the CL. He was playing with WC players like Ballack and Essien in front of a very strong defence, god I could look good next to them.

I'm still owed 2 hours of my life back.

Fair play, Utd had a $h!t team out but Chelsea had a relatively strong squad and still managed f@ck all. Mourinho needs to leave and Chelsea need to start entertaining.

This season Arsenal have scored the same amount of Chelsea and we've missed out two main strikers for most of the season AND we've famously bad at finishing Yikes

the big difference is, chelsea always seem capable of scoring the goals they need to win them matches, we are incapable of that. I think the reason we have the same amount of goals scored is because we have scored more useless goals than them. By useless goals i mean the 3rd goal in a 3-0 win for example, am sure they have scored more match winning goals than us.

Doesn't have Gerrard's explosiveness, but is certainly more composed. In fact that's his best attribute, his ability to create Space & time for himslf on the ball.

Very unfair on Dong , from playing in Belgian 2nd div to EPl and against Chelsea away , on his own against Terry and Essien.
I still remember people remarks about a certain Herr Vidic, he took time even to settle at Belgian 2nd div why different here,he will probably be loaned out somewhere again.
