Most overrated player on the board?*

*Don't think we've had a thread similar to this before, but if so, apologies

Contraversial I know, but which player do you get annoyed with when you see so many posts/threads going on hyping certain players to high heaven, when in reality, you should they're just a good/average player.

No need for me to mention who I've gone for, I think it's pretty obvious for everyone to see

Can include players of all league, nationalities, and if you really want, ex-professionals too.

Who did you go for?

I'm not sure, its difficult to say as each club seems to overhype their own players a bit too much.

The majority of the posters on here are English so it technically has to be an English player. Until this season I'd have said Rooney but he gets a lot of stick off a lot of people - in general with a lot of players I guess.

Kaka gets hyped a lot but then goes on to prove it was justified.

My nomination: Messi - people talk about him as though he's the world's best player, but he's had a tough second season, in truth down to his injuries.

Still gets way overhyped though IMO

We used to have about 5 of these threads every day on the old 606 board. Ahhhhh...the good old days.

Out of the Spanish league, I'd have to say Fernando Torres. A lot of posters on here (not Frank, of course -- mostly Man Utd fans and some Arsenal fans) think he's great and talk about wanting to bring him to the Premiership. The guy is a good player but his finishing is deplorable for a "top class" striker. He still gets a lot of hype and I'm not sure why.

Torres is a good shout and someone I did want about a year ago. However many no-Spaniards have sussed out that he is not as good as the hype. Except NI8WNG of course.

Even though I think he is a top player maybe David Villa is overhyped on here at times. Maybe when I have watched him he is off-form but he has not overly impressed me of late.

Lampard is an attacking midfield player, Kaka is also an attacking midfield player.

Both players score a lot of goals from midfield.

Only one is World Class.

Zambrotta... He is good.. but he hasn't been much better than any of our other fulbacks this season.. Makes some awful mistakes at times and has a hard time linking up with the attack.

sorry. i was being slightly facetious.

Used to be Lampard, but most EPL fans (outside of chelsea) seem to have figured him out now.

Going by the votes on the World Squad thread, I would say Alves. Tho he is good, he is not the best fullback in the world as many seem to think.

Most Chelsea fans now hate Lampard.

Lampard's actually probably one of the most UNDERHYPED players on this board.

People treat him like a div 2 player

Kaka id entire season he has been out preformed by seedoft for milan and Zlatan,Totti,Mancini and De rossi to name a Few in Serie A yet he is regaurd be most on here as the best player in the world for his CL form.
