Boumsong to Juventus and Martins to Newcastle

Sky sports reckon Boumsong is close to a move to Juve for £2.5m and Martins signing could be announced as soon as tomorrow, he's at SJP right now apparently to wrap up a €16 million (£10.9 million) move.

I can't find the story on Boum but it's been reported on sky sports news, good luck with that one Juve.

He doesn't get a game anymore, there's no point in keeping him. He's on about 35k a week aswell so we could do with getting rid.

Does anyone know how old Martins is? I've heard he was in the same youth team as Babayaro(Nigeria U21s i think) and Baba is 28. What's the crack there?

I haven't the foggiest, we'll have to wait and see. I don't think we NEED to bring someone in, we have Taylor, Moore, Bramble, Ramage, Huntington, and Edgar. Although Huntington might be going on loan to Plymouth.

28 is the age most people seem to think Martins is, but his official age is 21... make of it what you will really.

I don't think Nigeria keeps proper documentation of birth records - it's something ridiculous like that.

Martins is a good signing.

He'd be a good partner for Luque imo or even Ameobi.

A bit but we can't really think about Owen right now, we've got to plan for this season and it doesn't look like Owen will play much, if any, part in it. I'd be very happy with an Ameobi/Martins frontline.


And on the age business, didn't he come through Inters youth system and make his debt at 17? When exactly did he join Inter? I don't understand how they can't know how old he is.

Is it really though? You're losing 4 million on him after less than 18 months. I guess it's good in relation to some of his performances, but in general it's pretty poor business.

i´m with obispo, rangers had the best deal out of boumsong

To get £4.5m for a genuine donkey is good business in my book, i thought £3m would be the most we could get.
