Dein Wort in Gottes Ohr, we need them both. And Merte hopefully as well.

Well, he's not doing that well at the moment to be honest, but then again most of our players aren't doing well also...

He got a slight injury in our last match against the HSV, so he probably can't play on Wednesday against Barca...

    Seconded.

Please... batter them. I'll accept Otto's rantings about how Bremen and the Bundesliga are the best in the world ever if you do so.

Not sure about the line-up tonight, it will probably look like this:

    Code:

    --------------- Wiese --------------

    Fritz --- Baumann --- Naldo --- Wome

    --------------- Frings --------------

    Borowski ------------------- Schulz

    --------------- Diego -------------

    ---- Klose ------------ Klasnic ----

But Wome is playing soo badly at the moment, I don't know what's wrong with him. So maybe Schulz will play for him as RB, then Owomoyela or Hunt could play in the midfield instead. And if Mertesacker is fit enough to play tonight the line-up would probably look like this:

    Code:

    ---------------- Wiese ---------------

    Fritz - Mertesacker - Naldo - Schulz

    -------------- Baumann --------------

    Frings ---------------------- Borowski

    ---------------- Diego ----------------

    ----- Klose -------------- Klasnic ----
This would be my prefered line-up also...

Here are some interesting infos about the extension of the Weserstadion I found on the Werder forum. It's from an article in Sportbild.

This would be my prefered line-up as well, but unlikely, because Mertesacker still needs to get match practice, and a CL match against Barca definitely is not the best idea for a 'training match'...

Wow! What a surprise! Schaaf actually wants to risk Mertesacker in the central defence! And even more suprising, the youngster Hunt (!) in the attack, not Klasnic (who still lacks form). Almeida and Zidane are slightly injured.

    The line-up for tonight:

    Code:

    ------------Wiese-------------
    Fritz-Mertesacker-Naldo-Schulz
    ------------Baumann-----------
    --Frings------------Borowski--
    ------------Diego-------------
    ------Klose---------Hunt------

P.S.: 9 German players in the line-up, and 2 Brazilians.

Disappointment and pride, that's what I feel now. Great match by our team, we could have, and probably should have won this match. Everyone gave their best, they were k.o. at the end of the match really.

I'm really proud of this team, and we are not at our limit yet even. The team still needs to gel, especially in the defence. But once that happens, dann gnade euch Gott Europa. Very Happy

Despite the disappointment about the late equaliser, it's very good result for us.

Yes, he is German. His dad is German, his mum is English. He is one of our own youngsters, from the Werder academy. He is in the German U21 team, and most probably play against the English U21 team soon.

This was his first match ever from the beginning, and he was one of our best players!

Me too. What a great match it was, but it was also such a disappointment to concede the equalizer in the 89th minute. I guess it would feel better if we had scored in the 89th minute. When Messi came on for Eto´o I already had a bad feeling he would score in the last minutes... Crying or Very sad

But not everything is lost, Chelsea only won by two goals difference against Sofia...we might be able to top that.

We will have to win our matches against Sofia, that's a must. But it's not a given that Barca will beat Chelsea in both matches, they could well lose, especially at Stamford. Remember that they'll have to replace their most prolific striker E'too now.

This group is still open. Nothing decided yet.

Good no great game Bremen, your still in with a fight to qualify, because Barca and Chelsea will play each other back to back and one will defiantly drop points. And if you guys take the Full 6 for Sofia the final round of game will be very interesting

We have a chance to advance still indeed, and a lot will depends on how you guys will play against Chelsea. It would actually help us if one of you wins both matches. Will be very interesting in the next few weeks.

Today's match against Barca clearly showed that this must be our starting back four this season:

    Fritz - Mertesacker - Naldo - Schulz

Once these guys have gelled, and our midfield as well, the Werder machine will really start to roll! Smile

First of all, we will have to beat Sofia in both matches, that is a must. Should that happen, we will do our best to beat Chelsea at home. Although that's a very tough task, we do have a chance to beat them, especially if our team continues to gel and get match practice together.
