Milan’s early injury crisis
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milan are facing a striker shortage for the Moscow tournament, which begins on Friday, due to a glut of injuries. The Rossoneri are in the Russian capital to face Lokomotiv Moscow, PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid in a competition to celebrate 170 years of Soviet Railways.
Gabonese youth product Willy Aubameyang may be handed a start as Ronaldo, Pippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino are all sidelined with injury problems. Ronaldo pulled a hamstring kicking a ball in training, Inzaghi is nursing a sore left thigh and Gila is still recovering from knee surgery.
There are whispers in the Italian Press that Milan officials may take the chance to meet with their Real Madrid counterparts in Europe’s most populous city to discuss the future of the Merengues’ Brazilian ace Julio Baptista. The Diavoli are reportedly keen to take the Selecao star on loan with the option of a permanent move, but the 25-year-old has stressed his desire to stay at the Bernabeu and win over new boss Bernd Schuster
This article is sort of inaccurate. Gila is recovering from surgery, and he should be ready soon. Ronaldo, I don't think is injured. He had been training even before the team got together, so Milan decided to leave him behind to recuperate.
We need one more striker, but Milan are after Baptista AND Pato. Let's see what happens.
