In his first season he scored 17 in Serie A, with no pens. For me, that is anything but bad. This season his scoring output wasn't as good but as you have correctly pointed out, the entire team was a lot worse than last year. And let's not forget that he had to play with Pippo or NO-Goliveira or in some games as a lone striker; in addition, since Ronaldo came he started performing better and better.

Anyway for me, Gila is a victim of his own success during his Parma days. It's almost as if people will never be happy with him, unless he scores an outrageous amount of goals, like 50 in a season or something Laughing Personally, i'm very happy he is staying and i'm sure he can silence his critics. I know he can step up more and i've never denied that, but the level of abuse that he gets is completely unjustifiable when you take a look at his stats.

To be fair, RnB, it was Galliani who set Gila up for failure... there was no way Gila was ready to lead the Milan attack after Sheva left... there was bound to be disappointment!! Galliani put too much responsibility, too much expectation, too early on Gila. It was unfair on the (then) 23 yr old.

For a small club (parma) Gila can lead the attack even now... but for a big club like Milan, he is not yet ready - he ll do best as the 2nd or 3rd choice striker.

Give him 2 years, and I'm sure Gila will become a 20+ goals a season striker for a top team...

Big and solid at the back. Doesn't have the elegance of Nesta but a very accomplished defender. I have seen him play a few times for Zara, and he has always impressed me.

He is very solid, one of the best defenders at La Liga. Real had bought him a few years back, but rejected him on the medical and sign woodgate instead Wink... and they have regretted that ever since... I am surprised that he doesn't start for Argies regularly, he is that good.

Doesn't the signing of Suazo signal that 2 existing strikers are leaving or that Tevez aon't now be signed?

Sounds like a good signing then.
It's Grygera & Milito now in the central defense

    Its a bit strange.

The official story is that Suazo replaces Recoba. So now Mancio has his 5 strikers: Crespo, Ibra, Adriano, Suazo, & Cruz.

I would have believed that, except that Suazo is very similar to Adriano in his game... I just can't see these 5 strikers co-exist! I think Suazo is Adriano replacement, and once he is secured, Inter will accept Real's advances for Adriano.

Tevez is the replacement for Recoba. That makes sense. tevez will also give us the option of playing 3 strikers!

Don't you think 5 strikers is a bit over the top though?

I've seen teams struggle to keep four strikers happy - would Tevez be a starter?

2 years ago, we had 4 strikers and had huge injury/form problems. Since then Mancio has been very clear... 5 top strikers. Last season we had 6 strikers including the useless Choutos!!

The way Mancio rotates, there will be 3 strikers who will get a lions share of Serie A / CL. The other 2 will get all of Coppa, and will step in when the 3 strikers have injury or form issues.

If we get Tevez and Suazo, Tevez will be in the top 3 along with Crespo and Ibra. Suazo and Cruz will be the coppa strikers.

Personally, I think this is a bit over the top... I agree with 5 strikers, but the 5th should be a talented youngster, not a Cruz/Suazo.

I suppose Tevez could also drop back and play on the wings if needs be - he seems to like spending a lot of his time out there anyhow

Yeah, that would be the advantage with him... we can play 3 strikers, when we really want to attack.... something like:

    ----------Cambiasso - Stankovic
    Figo ------------Ibrahimovic-----------Tevez
    -------------------Crespo

That was how Recoba was useful anyways.

Apparently we'll all get clarification on the Tevez situation over the next week - if he does leave then I guess West Ham would be more willing to sell him aborad than to another EPl team ok

I hope it works out.... coz I really rate tevez for a long long time now. I was very disappointed when Inter let Corinthians beat us too it for his signature in 2005.

Since Saha's injury has been confirmed, looks like ManU will try and outbid Inter for Tevez.

Thats silly, coz Tevez is not a saha kinda player, he is more of a rooney kinda player.

    I hope its Inter!!
