Can't trust those treacherous c**ts :
Feyenoord gepikeerd over uitlatingen Van Geel
27/01/2008 14:19

31/01/2008 00:49
Jonathan De Guzman is binnenkort Nederlander.
De Guzman to leave Feyenoord this summer for sure

From SA Times
Kermit jumps at Feyenoord chance
by Mahlatse Mphahlele
Kermit Erasmus, who is heading for Feyenoord Rotterdam, says he has scored so many goals in his brief career he’s lost count.
“I used to keep records but I have played too many matches,” said the Supersport Academy player. Erasmus, 17, is one of the 50 most exciting teenage players on the planet, says World Soccer magazine. He starts with Feyenoord on July 1. Midfielder Philani Khwela is another United academy product who will make an overseas move — probably next year.
Erasmus was so impressive at the United/Feyenoord academy that former coach Pitso Mosimane promoted him to the first team last season, when he was 16. Mosimane said for the past five years Erasmus had been scoring goals for Feyenoord at tournaments against top junior clubs around the world.
“They used to call him to represent their club at tournaments and they know what he is capable of. His future is bright. He reminds me of Romario because of his technique inside the box.”
These sentiments are shared by his former academy coach, Godfrey Mosoetsa, who identified him at a Danone under-12 tournament five years ago.
“He is quick, explosive, comfortable with both feet, good in the air and clinical in front of goal. He has come a long way since the day he travelled by bus alone to Johannesburg as a 12 year old to pursue his dream.
“When he arrived at our academy he was the only coloured boy in his age group among blacks, but he fitted in well. He learned to speak Sotho and Zulu,” said Mosoetsa.
Erasmus vividly remembers the early days. “My mother did not want me to travel to Joburg by myself but, after consulting other family members, she agreed. When I left, all my teammates came to the bus station to wish me farewell.”
The nickname “Romario” has stuck with him because of his resemblance to the legendary Brazilian centre forward, but he prefers to be called by his own name. “It is humbling to be compared with players such as Romario, Wayne Rooney and other scorers, but I want to make a mark for myself,” he said.
Having trained with Feyenoord first team players such as Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Roy Makaay and Georginio Wijnaldum recently, Erasmus is aware it’s going to take some time to break into the team.
His business manager, Ashley Kotzin, said he would first be with the reserve side, to be further assessed, before being promoted to the seniors: “A lot will depend on his progress in the reserve side. He has been to Feyenoord about 15 times in the past few years. They rate him highly,” he said.
Mosimane said whether Erasmus would be a key figure for Bafana in 2010 depended on how he developed. He showed his knack for scoring when he contributed a goal during Amaglug-glug’s 2-0 win over Denmark at the Caledonian Stadium last weekend In so doing, he became the youngest player to score for Amaglug-glug, breaking Quinton Fortune’s long- standing record.
“During the game I was rushing myself, but Daine Klate told me to calm down,” he said.
Erasmus took the advice of his homeboy and United team- mate, and scored from what turned out to be the last kick of the game. Two days later, he netted two when United beat Angolan league champions InterClube 3-2 in a friendly at the Atteridgeville Super Stadium.
If he continues at this rate, it won’t be long before he is tormenting defenders in the Netherlands Eredivisie.

Jol or Verbeek...I dont know who to pick to be honest. Jol looks like he turned into a giant C0ck since he coached Spurs. And Verbeek did well with Heerenveen...
A toss up says I!

I doubt Rijkaard will be going to Ajax, Van Basten’s agent has given Ajax his terms & conditions and they will resume talks this week, plus my sources tell me things are going “well”. However I wouldn’t mind Frank Rijkaard but i think he will take a year or so out of Football when he leaves Barça.

Re: Feyenoord 2007/2008
Jonathan de Guzman is No Judas
Jonathan de Guzman is a rare bird: a Canadian soccer phenom. Lately, Canada has produced some very good players including his brother Julian, the awesome Dwayne de Rosario who plays for Houston in the MLS and Owen Hargreaves.
Of the four names two play for Canada and one of them isn't Jon. You see, Jon de Guzman has been playing in the Netherlands since he was spotted by Feyenoord when he was 12. In the process he became a Dutch citizen and was subsequently trained in the famous "total football" tradition. As opposed to wallowing in whatever coaching "tactics" Team Canada had set up.
So when the time came to choose who he would play for - Canada or the Netherlands - de Guzman opted for the latter.
It's the right decision.
The last time Canada found itself in similar circumstances was with Owen Hargreaves. Hargreaves may have been born with a British passport but he did actually play in Canada. He could have easily been playing for Canada. Except for one thing: the CSA was sleeping at the switch and never realized what they had. Actually, they pretty much snubbed him. Next thing you know, he's playing for mighty Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and later wearing the three lions of England. All of a sudden he was good enough for Canada? Na-ah.
If you recall, that caused quite a ridiculous uproar among clueless nationalists who considered him a traitor. It's not okay for Lennox Lewis, Brett Hull or Greg Rusedski to leave but it's quite alright for athletes from other countries to come here and represent us? Lord, how many of our star track athletes are from abroad? We seem to like it when Donovan Bailey (who was not born in Canada) wins us a medal, right?
I can see why some soccer fans are upset. Ironically, despite all the stupidity stemming from the CSA, Canada actually is developing some solid players in spite of all the problems. With de Guzman, Canada finally had a shot at fielding its finest midfield's ever. Alas, it was not to be.
Still, how can we blame de Guzman for wearing the orange colours of the Netherlands? Indeed, one of the best footballing nations in the world.
The cold hard fact is that the soccer landscape in Canada is way too unstable for quality players to commit to.
Will this be the moment that finally galvanizes the Canadian soccer community to finally evolve and change? Will the CSA (the same people who oddly promoted Dale Mitchell to coach the senior men's team after spectacularly crashing out of the U-20s) get out of the business of development? Will they become more transparent?
So many questions and complex issues that I'm not holding my breath.
Expect more de Guzman's to split before it gets better.

Now Jans and Verbeek did well..but both their teams have a great scouting.

Yeah Adriaanse is waaaaaaaaaay to Ajax/Amsterdam. I have a feeling it will be Jans.
Verbeek might be too rough..he is too much of a farmer. Jol doesnt have the money he had with them Spurs so..besides I imagine he still wants to go back to the EPL.
Jans was a German teacher..the board like those kind of managers.

Van Marwijk had a clause in his contract he could leave when he goot offered to manage Holland. So he'll be allowed to resign at the end of the season.

Think we should play 4-4-2 with Makaay & de Guzman up fornt:

-------Makaay---------------De Guz-------
don't want to see Bahia & Greene anyway near eachother again. They can't play together.

Dissapointed in Greene, he was allright last year. Now he is so $h!t!
Guzzie should be sold next year, lets hope gay Chelsea pays a ridiculous amount again!
Another thing is Metgod should be kicked out...he is to long assistant there now..while I always have a feeling he has done f@ck all.
