Well, nothing to worry about. Only 8 points behind PSV. All signs point to Feyenoord winning the Eredivisie title this season.

Sign 1: in 1992 Feyenoord fans were furious when Feyenoord signed striker John van Loen, who was playing for Ajax at that time. He was in about the same situation as Charisteas. Too little playing time. Nobody expected Feyenoord to win the League that season. The league season didn't start that well, but the team already showed good fighting spirit. The other clubs dropped more and more points and we dropped less and less. In the end we were signing "En John van Loen wordt kampioen..." Castelen will be the new Kiprich, who was the main scorer, Van Loen proved to be crap, Charisteas is already showing signs of being crap too.

Sign 2: Willem van Hangem did not go to China

Sign 3: My cat died a month ago, my previous cat died in 1993.

Lightning will not strike twice .. Rolling Eyes

Feyenoord have to fight a 'efficient' PSV, 'machine men' AZ and a 'rejuvenated' Ajax.

However i must congratulate Feyenoord on their 4 games without defeat (all wins) and wish them luck against the 'machine men' this weekend.

    Sweet a Feyenoord thread.

Anyway Guzzie, as you may experience yourself with Feyenoord supporters there are two kind of them. The positive and the negative, your obviously a positive one. But to be fair, the title is for us so far away this year. I really can't see it happen.

The game against AZ will be a crucial one, if we beat them will be great for the team. Such a moral boost for the players.

But it will be a hard to even get a point out of that game, we miss Buys as well.

Can't see us win the Eredivisie either (just heard somebody comparing Charisteas to van Loen & thought you forget to mention that we won the league that season). We will miss Buys for sure. Would play the same players you play. AZ will play 4-4-2, so Koemen might opt for 3 at the back (like a couple of times last season).

Agreed, Charisteas showed us some things yesterday, we had never seen before. Drenthe was amazing yesterday, bare in mind that the kid is only 19 affraid His defense qualities are much better then Emmanuelson's. Has to improve his pace a bit tho.

There was a real team out there, I think that was the most important thing we achieved yesterday. Ofcourse there is still much wrong with it, but Koeman is showing some improvements at last.

I've seen Drenthe in Jong-Oranje and now again : that guy looks like the real deal.

If you could have him as LB and Emanuelson as LM in Jong-Oranje that would make a decent left "flank" !

In another thread you thought it strange that he was compared to Davids, well I don't. Every time I see Royston in action he reminds me of Edgar : they have the same drive and eagerness/aggressiveness and they also seem to have the same stance/run the same way. At least that's what I think Ale

Nope, there's no denying it : I'm really really surprised by Feyenoord (in a positive way) ok

I undertsand their ways of play are alike (not entirely, different postition too). But they way they look is toaaly different.

Anway glad we're making you happy. I predict you more joy for the coming years, lots of freaking good youngsters on their way.

Charisteas played well yesterday. On people in the stadium. Will take more for an ex-Ajax player to be accepted. That season when Cruijff played in De Kuip, he was showing his class every match, despite that at the end of the season there were still people whistling when he touched the ball.

furthermore most people in the stadium don't have a clue about football (goes even more for people who go don't go). Strikers are so much dependent on the service they get. Charisteas was poorly supported by midfield, and imo did very well with the not always perfect supply he got. Should have scored though. If he would have done that he would have been my MOTM.

I give Van den Herik lots of credits for the good things he did for the club. Think they should make him honorary member or whatever (I'm serious). He also made some mistakes & we can do better with a new chairman (hopefully one who can get us -sponsors with- money).

in general they buy value for money players. their scouting network in scandinavia is probably better than any of the top european clubs' network overthere.

Well seems van den herik aka GKL will not go.

So it's civil war between the Van kerkum and van den Herik faction. To be honest don't like the other faction either. kerkum's plans are no improvement (bar getting rid of VDH).

last night in the pub we founded the KLA, Kameraden Liberation Army. Our Aim is to have a socio organisation like Barcelona, our Great Leader is De Kromme aka Willem van Hanegem.

BTW disgraceful, he (Willem) was not informed/asked to be part of the pre-match appeal to the fans.

Both GKL & consorten and Kerkum's comittee suck. Power to the socios. Kudo's to our great leader, De Kromme. He'll be the only leader KLA considers acceptable.
