Metzelder should arrive at the end of the week...officialy presentation will somewhat be determined by the timing of Bernd Schuster's official presentation.

The Real Madrid future of striker Roberto Soldado will be decided this week.
A solid favourite of the Real support, Soldado has a year left on his present contract and his agent, Alberto Toldra, will discuss terms with sports director Pedja Mijatovic in the coming days.
Toldra's demands are seen as too rich by Mijatovic and while Soldado is desperate to stay in Madrid, he won't consider being fourth-choice striker after his success at Osasuna last season.
A big move to Villarreal could be on for Soldado, as the Yellow Submarines seek a replacement for new Atletico Madrid signing Diego Forlan.

Is Metzelder a replacement for Salgado or is he having one more season? or is he a replacement for Cannavaro (if he is leaving) or is he just going to be a back up?

From what I've seen he is either a centreback or at times he has played on the left side of a back-three. He will almost certainly come in to play next to Cannavaro (apparently Schuster wants to keep him). Sergio Ramos -> right back.

He's not really for sale. I think particularly now that he will not have to worry about playing in a straight jacket, he could go on to big things.
But in the hypothetical scenario where we would sell him, I don't think we'd be prepared to let him go for less than what we paid, so you could start bidding at 25m. euro.

Robinho played very well on the right for Brazil the other night. Perhaps this is a position Madrid should consider employing him in? I'd like to see Robinho play with more freedom at Mardrid, like he does for Brazil.

I think Robinho's best position should be as a media punta or second striker with complete freedom. So basically the same way he plays for Brasil.
If Robinho were to play on the wings, I think that despite his performance for Brasil last night, his best position is on the left. His dribbles work best when he drifts outwards with his right foot. This also gives him a shooting option when he cuts outside, which is a big advantage.

He played one game on the right last year, away to Espanyol (with Reyes on the left) and it was looking really promising until Cannavaro got sent off and then Robinho was substituted off. The problem when he is plays on the left is he only does one thing -- dribble and then cut back into the centre. It gets very predictable. But wherever he plays -- removing the shackles Capello had on him and I think he could have a great season.

Expect Carlos Tevez to sign for you this summer. I have it on good authority that we are going to sign both Jermain Defoe and Craig Bellamy.
Tevez WAS going to stay here but, you are ready to offer the full amount that Kia Joorabchian wants...meaning he will sell instead of keep him with us for another year.
Look after Carlos

We have no use for Tevez just at the moment. I'm not saying he isn't a good player but we have more second forwards than we know what to do with...

TM, I don't know why you don't rate Tevez.
He's awesome.
If you get Robinho to perform, Robinho-RVN-Tevez could be devastating.

His time at WH hasn't helped me, but it was difficult for him with not playing, he came good towards the end of the season
I don't know, if we get him for a reasonable price then fair enough.

Jaime...obviously I have watched Tevez week in week out as I'm a season ticket holder and I go to most away games. I have NEVER seen a player like this before. Even Henry hasn't impressed me live like Tevez has. The guy is simply amazing and will only get better. Best player in the world within the next few years.
The only other player who has impressed me live anything like Tevez has is Wayne Rooney.

Because right now it would be a waste of money. We need to reinforce our central defence and above all else, we need to buy someone for the right wing and a midfield organizer. After we have addressed those needs and after we have gotten rid of Cassano, Baptista, we can think about adding another withdrawn striker. But truthfully, Raul isn't going anywhere and I really like Higuain not to mention that is probably Robinho's best position.

Exactly. Also Tevez would cost way too much money. Higuain is also improving with every game and getting Tevez would seriously limit his playing time. I would be happier with just getting Saviola on a free and investing heavily on some wingers. And of course, bringing Soldado back as a sub for Ruud.

But he plays as a withdrawn striker, no? We have so many in this position. I take your word that he is the real deal but unless he can play on the right wing or as a playmaker or as a central defender, we should have other priorities right now.

He can play as a playmaker yes...we used him as a striker because we needed him there and have Yossi Benayoun (who you should how good he is too).
You might think this now, but if you sign him, which is likely, and you see him play...you'll realise it was worth it mate

The price would be big...but remember for someone of his age and ability. I'm not sure how much Kia wants. It's hard for me to say his best position as I've only seen him in one.
Todo and B-Cosmico might have sene him in different positions.

I know how good Yossi is from his days at Racing Santander. He's a top player.
I guess we'll see about Tevez. I'm just worried about us squandering upwards of 30m. euro when we have lots of needs in terms of the squad, the least of which is withdrawn forward.

Has Tevez said anything else to indicate he's going Deano and have Madrid made an offer or do they look set to make an offer?
