The top earners in Madrid earn 6 million Euros per year. At the moment, only Casillas and Raul earn that since Beckham is leaving. I believe even Roberto Carlos earned less (something like 4.5 million). So it's a hell of an offer that we're giving to Chivu. He can shove it up his ass if he turns it down.

Abidal is getting 2mill per year.

Puyol probably 5-6, but it's a tough comparison because he's the captain and symbol of the club.

Thuram and Zambrotta are on a lot, both close to 4million I think.

Raul gets 6m, which is itself a big record over and above any other Madrid player, so that really puts Chivu's demands in perspective.


I think it's an Italian thing to pay huge salaries...I read a stat recently that stated that the big Italian clubs still have a ridiculously high wage/turnover ratio, despite most big clubs agreeing to an unofficial goal of reducing that figure to less than 50%.

Ideally both Cannavaro and Helguera would leave but that is only if there were suitable replacements (wouldn't be that hard to find...) otherwise I think they'll both be back.

Becalli, Chivu`s agent has just said on radio Marca that Chivu will not be playing for RM or Barça and only wants to play for Inter, if Roma wont sell him to Inter he will stay 1 more year Roma till his contract runs out and becomes a free agent.

Seems to me like Chivu`s agent is trying to put more pressure or RM & Barça so they cave and pay Chivu what he wants.
