Wow, it's a bit difficult to believe that Atletico of all teams have won the Europa League...that too after their absolutely woeful CL performance, and subsequent bizarre run through the EL where they hardly won any games and kept going through on away goals Laughing

Still, as some others have said, it'll be sweet if Barça do win the league on Sunday and Madrid are left with nothing cheers

Tears fo Fulham. Atletico's attacking quality ultimately showed on the night and glad to see them win something. However Fulham's journey was a magnificent achievement in itself. Let's just hope they'll continue to progress and won't suffer a hangove next season.

Only saw from the second half and forward. Pretty boring match. Atletico were better organised then usually and Quique has managed to keep the defence together and let the midfield protect the defence more. The attacking play by both sides was disapointing.

I didn't really care which side won allthough I hoped for some spectacular stuff from Aguero/Forlan/Reyes/Simao. Happy for them after all these years they finally win something. While they haven't won too many teams I think they have fairly well in several of their games in the knock outs so a bit unfair on some of the criticism levelled towards them. I don't think Atletico has anything in while Real Madrid hasn't in 14 years or something. Their fans will go crazy now and perhaps they start thinking like a winning side again. Would almost feel bad for them if we somehow win the title now. Almost Biggrin

That is a bit unfair because the last two England Vs Spain Euro finals in the Uefa Cup have been a high quality side(Sevilla/Atletico) vs a minow(Boro/Fulham). In the opposite case Liverpool vs Alaves the England side won albeit a bit more of a fight but still.

2nd Atletico goal looked pretty lucky, but anyway. unlucky Woy.

Talking about Boro's match against Sevilla? If so what do you mean?

Also think Fulham was disapointing but perhaps they simply are much more suited for 2 games then a one off. Shame about Zamora because I really think he could have done some damage. In the ideal world Atletico would have taken the Spanish cup and break their losing streak and then Fulham could take this cup. Perhaps they will inspire Fayed to invest more in the club?

Just saying..we got fucked hammered 4-0 and all that. Would've been nice if we'd put up as decent a fight as Fulham did.
