As I said, up to now, this Copa has been boring.

It seems the top SA teams are going through a crisis, while the underdogs are getting better. We saw this in the WC: Brazil and Argentina underperforming, while the others did alright.

Chile were knocked out by Brazil, but could have beaten Spain in the group game.

Paraguay reached the quarters, and then were KOed by Spain in a tough match.

Uruguay reached the semis and had a good game against Holland.

That is, South American medium forces have been better than Euro medium forces, while SA top sides have been worse than Euro's.

Besides, former S American shite are not shite anymore. Venezuela used to lose to everybody, now they'll fight for a place in the next WC. Ecuador, another ex-shite, have been playing alright for some years now.

I hope Uruguay will save Copa América's first round today.

But it's too early to judge the competition. Let's see how it will develop.

I honestly to GOD dont get those comparisons about south american football and european. Its so fucking boring, tho Puro should take the blame in this forum.

I love our football, but I also fucking love european football. The Euro will always be a great tournament for me, I love see the big euro teams playing even if they dissapoint, Germany-England was one of my fave games in last WC.

Its like journalists discussing who is better Pele or Maradona, give me a break, who fucking cares.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! both are ego maniac ass holes. They can both die in a fire for all I care.

If everybody played the same this game would suck.

Now back to copa america............ all teams look crap so far, what happened to big scoring games?

It's just football Juli. A bit of banter here and there, nothing serious (I hope...).

I actually love Samba and am saddened by the fact that it seems to be dying these days, at least on the pitch. I'll start to watch the Copa once the knockout stages begin. The group stages have traditionally been pretty gash to be honest.

I was dissapointed because I thought that Brazil would at least be offensive, yet we were almost as bad as Argentina, but they have the excuse since the best players were in the bench.

I wonder if Lucas will finish this Copa in the bench or he will force Mano will be forced to put him on the team, this group looks so young for me.

    Ju,

Mano is doing what you and 90% of Brazilians wanted Dunga to do. All the samba dancers on the pitch. Now who's to blame?

Lucas? Lucas souldn't even be on the bench after the horrible games he had for Brazil.

    Robinho, I'll say for the 100th time, should retire. He's not a footballer. He's a c**t.

I'd have Elano in his place. Let's get back to 3 DMs or we'll never get anywhere.

Is there no player that plays deep for Brasil and can pass a football. There was the same problem last world cup with Gilberto Silva. Pretty much any succesful team these days has a player who can pass the ball forward from deep.

One of Ramires or Lucas makes sense, both of them don't.

To be fair, the point of Puro and co. has generally been that the South American teams have come closer in terms of quality in recent years. ie. top teams have got worse and the bottom teams have got much better. So probably we can expect more even games in this edition...the lack of goals though is of course a different matter. 0-0 or 1-0 doesn't necessarily mean the two teams were very evenly matched.

Has Thiago Motta chosen Italy, or still available for Brazil? When fit, he isn't a bad option.

But I get your point. This is the team that people from ESPN BRASIL were crying for. This is the people's team.

And I do agree that the 3 DMs should be used, but you have to admit that Mano subs were a disaster. He takes Pato, the only offensive player that was actually doing something and puts Fred??? Fred should be bench in Fluminense, he has no place in this team.

And lets say Ganso doesnt work, who Mano will put in his place? Jadson? why Hernandes was banned from this team? I dont get it.
