Bale lacks the pace to be a winger. If anything he'd have to push Evra forward but then that defeats the purpose of signing Nani.

I think the papers are in the dark on this one and are shooting blind so they've merely identified the three players that you've been most often linked with - personally I doubt that this is the three that Utd actually want

You wont get relegated Deano ,I hope , a draw would be enough for you.

Quag has been linked with us again somewhere.
    Also this

Paris Saint Germain starlet Youssouf Mulumbu is content with life at Parc des Princes, despite claiming that Manchester United have been in contact with him.

The 20-year-old - who is playing in his first season as a professional - has emerged as a promising prospect for Paul Le Guen having played 15 times this term.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is an admirer of the versatile performer, according to Mulumbu himself, along with European giants Juventus and Valencia.

However, PSG's DR Congo-born midfielder admits he is happy with the chance handed to him by the French club ahead of proposed talks over his future.

"It is always nice to play regularly for every club, but it is more encouraging when it is for PSG," Mulumbu told But.

"It is not easy to trust youngsters here, so I can't show bad performances like I did at Toulouse.

"Manchester United, Juventus and Valencia are still following my performances, they keep on contacting me.

"But they know that since I signed a professional contract, it is more difficult for them.

"Regarding my future I don't know what I will do. We will sit down and discuss it with my agent and the coach. It is really encouraging to be followed by such clubs.

"The most important thing for me is to play, and I can't complain because I have played nearly 20 times and it is only my first pro season. I am proud."

Meanwhile, PSG will be without Pierre-Alain Frau for the remainder of the season after the striker suffered a muscle injury in his foot.

The capital club are currently seven points clear of the danger zone with three games to go, but Frau will be unable to assist their bid for salvation after an MRI scan confirmed he will be sidelined for a month.

Its going to be a long summer , but does this means we are turning away from Hargy.

    MEN IN THE MEDALS
Martin, can you tell me who will miss out/get Premiership medals for Manchester United as it stands. As a Hammer I am hoping Fergie has to send out a few of his 'lesser' players to give them a medal! Alex Grainger
    Manchester United 2006/2007, CHAMPIONS Again. - Page 2 Smith-shout
    MARTIN SAYS:
Well Alex, you might be pleased to know that there is no-one on the fringe as it were, although it has been known for managers to rest a few players with the FA Cup final six days away. As you probably know, the minimum requirement for a Premiership winner's medal is 10 games, although the Premier League have been known to give them out under special circumstances. Dion Dublin got one in 1993 after breaking his leg and playing only seven games and it might be the case for Alan Smith, who if he appears in United's last two games, will have only made nine league appearances this season. Just for the record here are the men who, after 36 games, do qualify for a medal under the rules and their total appearances, either as a sub or in the starting XI: Wes Brown (20); Michael Carrick (31), Patrice Evra (21), Rio Ferdinand (33), Darren Fletcher (22), Ryan Giggs (29), Gabriele Heinze (20), Gary Neville (24), John O'Shea (30), Ji-Sung Park (14), Kieran Richardson (13), Cristiano Ronaldo (33), Wayne Rooney (33), Louis Saha (24), Paul Scholes (29), Mikael Silvestre (14), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (17), Edwin van der Sar (31), Nemanjar Vidic (25). Here are the handful that don't: Tomasz Kuszczak (5), Henrik Larsson (7), Alan Smith (7).

So top 5 players according to app in the league
    CR7 33
    Rooney 33
    Rio 33
    VDS 31
    Carrick 31

So about Carlos, what do you guys think? Obviously this is a divided issue, and I wouldn't mind hearing what you think. I've wondered for some time.

He knows the club well, the players know him and respect him, and he's good at what he does. You guys seem to question his character though. We'll he's not arrogant like Mourinho, but since when is that a necessity?

Queiros commands a pretty high level of respect I think as he's a pretty stand up guy. Never heard anything bad about him, and he's got a certain charm about him. Pretty polite guy.

I think he could do a good job for Utd, and believe he already had. I remember him being blamed for Utd's poor form last year, but personally I think he's a huge part of Utd's current form, bringing in players like Ronaldo. I personally think the guy is part of this new, younger, Manchester. He'd have to be backed just like Alex was though to do a proper job.

(Give him a brake for the thing at Madrid, it's not like it's gotten any better since he left...and he was in first and playing well until everything went to hell)

CQ should remian in his post and let Roy Keane take over from SAF and help Keano. That would be best for ALL concerned!
There is a certain quality the only SAF and RK embody that CQ - who i like very much - doesn not have.

I like the guy and I don't blame him fully for what happened at Madrid but it does bring into question how he would handle the pressure of the job.

I just think to replace Fergie, we need someone who's had experince of handling a massive job and succeded. Like the Lippi's, Hiddink's of this world. Not saying we'd get them though.

    about the character.....

we meant that prehaps he doesn't have the drive, the passion, the fire in his heart to be able to motivate players

But then again who's to say a different managerial styke wouldn't work in the premiership

CQ influence on the team has obviously been positive, the balance between him and Fergie i think is a key part of the success we have had this season.

    However........

I don't really represent the views of the majority of United fans, and neither do most of the United fans on here
