3-1. Good results for the survival hopes.

Valladolid lead 1-0 in Tenerife. The primera beckons, huge celebrations tonight no doubt.

A loss to the Xerez yonquis today. Fucking useless.
Gonzalez has lots to do in the summer. Still only two points off fourth though - we need to claim that.

Also - Valladolid's amazing and record breaking run of 29 games unbeaten finally came to an end today as they went down 3-2 to Almeria. The eastern Andalusians need just one more win to guarantee promotion along with Valladolid. The same applies to Murcia who beat Lorca 1-0.

Cadiz may not be in the best of form right now. In our last four games we have scored just one in each. But what crackers they have been. All so different but all with skill - perhaps with the exception of the goal vs Poli Ejido which had an element of luck about it but was from miles out all the same. So for your entertainment four golazos....hard to pick a winner.....

Vela has had a very good game for Salamanca against Castilla so far - he set up both goals. 2-1 to Salamanca as it stands. Castilla really need this to fight possible relegation.

Other results are going Castilla's way though. Alaves look dead and buried against Ciudad Murcia. Malaga are only level at home to already relegated Vecindario.

Ponferradina really need to beat Murcia for their survival hopes. It is currently 0-0. Should the away side win - they are a confirmed primera side for 2007/08.

    Castilla have equalised!!!

Lorca beat Alermia 3-1 meaning the Andalusians need one more win to make primera football sure! Those who traveled would have gone home very disappointed. The win gives Lorca a renewed chance of beating the drop.

We got a creditable 2-2 at the Zorilla against Valladolid. Was an eventful game - but needless sendings off made it all a bit petty.

0-0 and 2-2 against this seasons class act show we do have some resilience in the tank somewhere. The amount of chances that were wasted today though....

Lobos, Acuna, Sesma all guilty. Great to see Enrique back and banging in the decisive goal.

Almeria made sure of promotion with a 2-1 win over Ponferradina yesterday. So all three promotion places decided.

The biggest matter now is releation. Vecindario are down, but beat Castilla 2-1 yesterday - they're not looking good and for my money are doomed. Ponferradina seem to pull off some good results at times but have a deficit to make up whilst Lorca are as good as down if they don't beat Cadiz today.

Alaves, Las Palmas, Malaga, Castellon the other teams with the threat of relegation. Poli Ejido and above look just about safe.

    14 Poli Ejido 49
    15 Castellón* 47
    16 Málaga* 47
    17 Las Palmas 47
    18 Alavés 46
    19 R. M. Castilla 44
    20 Ponferradina 40
    21 Lorca* 35
    22 Vecindario 27

    Cadiz 0-0 Lorca

So hard being a cadista in times like these. Just six thousand in the Carranza - reflecting the mood at the moment - this has been a poor season - that is ending even worse.

The point keeps Lorca in with a tiny chance of staying up. Although it looks grim. Puta Malaga got the points at Tenerife! So they now look safe.

Looks like Castilla is doomed, gutted i honestly thought we had a good enough team to be midtable-ish. Sad cos a lot of people had high hopes for Michel, i remember when Capello was being very questioned and Michel`s name poped up more than once to take over RM ! My how things have changed.

    Tenerife
    Murcia
    Almeria
    Cadiz

Its a long shot but fingers crossed that we stay up bounce

Castilla have a huge game against Tenerife today. Watched the reverse fixture live earlier in the season and that day the home side were much better - only the dismissal of star player Ayoze allowed Castilla back into the game.

Two moire teams joined Vecindario in the segunda B last night after Lorca were put out of their misery by Castellon and Ponferradina were beaten comfortably by an ever inconsistent Cadiz. We have in form Elche at the Carranza next weekend - expect a good away win.

Valladolid have hit a poor run after their clinching of promotion and consecutive loses mean that if Almeria beat Elche today - they are right back in the title race - just three behind Pucela. Don't expect it though.

Here's the bottom of the table then...

    16 Las Palmas 50
    17 Sporting 50
    18 Alavés 49
    19 R. M. Castilla* 44
    20 Ponferradina 40
    21 Lorca 36
    22 Vecindario* 27

Looking bleak for Castilla if they don't win. Interestingly the four clubs above them are.... Alaves, Sporting de Gijon, Las Palmas and Malaga - certainly big clubs who you wouldn't expect to be down there.

I may like all Cadistas hate Malaga but credit to their supporters other than the frente bokeron, an average attendance of near 20,000 this season.

    R. M. CASTILLA 2-3 TENERIFE
    MÁLAGA 1-2 MURCIA
    SALAMANCA 2-3 VECINDARIO
    ELCHE 1-2 ALMERÍA

Today's results result in things looking very bad for Castilla! They need a miracle to stay up now.

    Murcia (A)
    Almeria (H)
    Cadiz (A)

That doesn't look to kind for final three games with a five point deficit to make up.

They have 44 points though! Usually 45 keeps you up. This league is such of a close nature (other than top three this season) Fourth place Ciudad de Murcia have 60 points - just eleven ahead of Alaves in 18th.

Almeria's fairly surprising victory means that they are just three points behind Valladolid. Pressure on las violetas - if they drop this title with the lead they have it will put a huge down on what has been a splendid season! Still fancy them to do will in the Primera though.

Playoffs for promotion to the second division are set; I'd really like to see Rayo get back up to the first division:

    Grupo I
    Universidad-Sevilla B
    Alcoyano-Burgos

    Grupo II
    Córdoba-Pontevedra
    Palencia-Huesca

    Grupo III
    Real Unión-Alicante
    Racing de Ferrol-Linares

    Grupo IV
    Hospitalet-Eibar
    Portuense-Rayo Vallecano

    Would like to see...

Alcoyano - as they are my lower division team. Great for the town of Alcoy - hopefully might push forward a move for a new stadium.

Cordoba - good for Andalusia, good club in general, have always had a friendly rivalry with Cadiz

Hard to pick out of group 3. Alicante maybe - then there will be the derby with Hercules?

And probably Rayo of the last group - is unfortunate for them to be in segunda b - much to bigger club to be there.

    Fixtures for tonight and tomorrow....

    CÁDIZ Sab-18:30 ELCHE
    SPORTING Sab-18:30 CIUDAD M.
    TENERIFE Sab-18:30 VECINDARIO
    LAS PALMAS Sab-18:30 SALAMANCA
    NUMANCIA Dom-18:00 POLI EJIDO
    HÉRCULES Dom-18:00 LORCA
    CASTELLÓN Dom-18:30 PONFERRADINA
    ALMERÍA Dom-19:00 MÁLAGA
    ALBACETE Dom-19:00 XEREZ
    MURCIA Dom-19:30 R. M. CASTILLA
    ALAVÉS Dom-20:30 VALLADOLID

Everything can be sorted out this weekend regarding relegation. A likely loss for Castilla at title chasing Murcia would mean that all the teams above them need a win to guarantee safety and put the Real Madrid B team down, and turn this league into one made up of all first team, unless Sevilla B get up that is!

We have a big match against Elche. A lot of players playing for their futures today, as is the manager, the board and everything to do with the club, we seem to have hit a turning point, with the potential picot on these last three games of the season. Hence, with it meaning so much - I feel we will get a win at the Carranza - for once.

The game is on tele incidentally if anyone fancies a watch. On all forta channels. www.telemadrid.com on the net.

The match at the Carranza has improved as it has gone on, we lead Elche 2-0 at half time after two Sesma goals, perhaps a final fling before a transfer to Valladolid?

Enrique has been the star of the show for me so far, his all round play has been awesome, is great to see him back, I don't think we have missed Lobos one bit.

    CÁDIZ 3-1 ELCHE
    SPORTING 4-3 CIUDAD M.
    TENERIFE 0-2 VECINDARIO
    LAS PALMAS 2-2 SALAMANCA

A generally entertaining match at the Carranza. The crowd really picked up at the end of the game - showing its appreciation that the team had, for once, played well at home. With Ciudad's loss we are now just a point behind them. Will be a straight fight between us and them for fourth spot with two games remaining.

Sporting are now safe, whereas Las Palmas require a loss for Castilla tomorrow, same applies to Elche.

Which players are worth watching out for at Elche? Do Castellon have anyone worth looking out for? How is Pablo Hernandez progressing? Earlier in this thread you said we have a gem on our hands, but then said Cadiz have him for two years. Is this a firm agreement with Valencia or can we recall him if necessary?

Pablo is now confirmed as a Getafe player for the next four years as his contract had an option to leave Cadiz should a primera club come calling. However - I think that Valencia also have the option to recall him at any time! I expect him to shine next season but we shall see, he is yet to have played in the primera, so will be judged properly then. I seriously believe that we would be in the relegation scrap if it wasn't for him this season though, he has won various games for us almost single handedly.

Check out the other thread and I posted a bit more about the Elche squad mate. The frente bokeron are basically the Malaga ultras, they have a strong reputation for being particularly racist and have a strong reputation for trashing the city of Cadiz every time we play Malaga at the Carranza! Not liked at all amongst cadistas as a result!
