Very good question, Jol might still stick with Keane....

    I'll say....

    Berbatov- 16

    Bent-15

    Keane- 12

    Defoe- 10

Lennon 6 to 8....Iam confident Lennon will grow in confidence each year and IMPROVE as young aspiring players do and I am pretty positive his end-product will improve...

Huddlestone,Jenas, Trabaalt, Boetang, Malbranque- 9 between them

The rest, i.e King, bale, Kaboul, Zokora, Chimby, etc- 7

Hopefully over 70, maybe more if we also get a decent attacking left winger, which WILL complete our squad...

It was more of a "no way will they score that amount, you must have got it wrong" thing which went bad Smile

70 goals + my arse. They ain't that good.

Edit: Liverpool will not pass 75 goals and I'd put some betting points on it in the predictions thread If anyone wants to take the bet.

Rafa said he wants us to score lots of goals this season, while for the past few season he hasn't really cared as long as we win games.

Sorry, but you've scored 57 in each of the past two seasons, and 52 in the season before that. Rafa isn't attacking enough to get 80+ goals. <Ale>

That's a bit different. We have a new manager and we don't know what his plans are for us, any guess at how many goals we will score is a stab in the dark really. We know what Rafa's Liverpool are about though. ok

How many goals did Liverpool fans think Bellamy would get last season in the league?

In the end Bellamy got 7 league goals.

Saints were 2nd top scorers in the c/ship behind West Brom and the top scorers away from home - this was owed mainly due to our strikers (in all competitions)

    Rasiak - 21
    Jones - 16
Saganowski - 10 (who we had for less than 1/2 a season)
    BWP - 10
Best - 4 (who was on loan most of the time)

adding up to a total of 51 goals which was fantastic

The trouble that we had was finding goals from midfield where players like Skacel and Viafara who were expected to get 5-10 throughout the season could only get 4 each in all competitions.

Bale netted us 5 from left-back (4 of which were free-kicks though and another which was deflected)

Anyway 93 overall which was great, it was the defence that needed sorting out

    Lennon/K-P Boateng/Taarabt/Routledge = 10 between them

I'm not sure about this part, i mean Routledge will get fook all, same with Taarbat probably, Lennon will only get a few so really you're relting on Boateng to be a big scorer.

I'll admit to being optimistic with that. Wink

We can definetly get 65-70. I don't think we're any worse than Liverpool Offensively.

Jenas was averaging 1 in 4 last season, and a full season out of him and he *could* reach 10 goals.

Zack, Jenas will definetly score more than Lennon. The most Lennon will get is around 6, I reckon.

Berbatov will score more than Keane & Darren Bent, because he's definetly the no.1 forward and will start the most matches. Bent will have a better goals-per-minute Ratio though. Defoe might not be here in January, as if he hasn't agreed a new deal by then, he'll only have 18 months left on his deal, and it'll be ta-ra Sad

It's about time Dawson started scoring from set-pieces and, such... It's not a big problem for King.

    Thats ridiculous!

If you have two strikers that can get 15+ then there is no way the other strikers will get enough play-time to score that many.

So 53 goals from your strikers?!

That means they'll have to all produce a truly incredible scoring rate

I think Liverpool will crack the 60 mark this season.

Strikers - we've effectively replaced Bellamy with Torres and Fowler with Voronin. I would expect both of the new boys to score more, even allowing for first-season settling-in.

Midfield - our key goalscorers in midfield were Gerrard, Garcia and Kewell. Gerrard had an average season (for him) last year and should at least equal that. Garcia has been replaced by Babel who is an unknown quantity - but Garcia was injured for a big chunk of last season and we were playing Zenden, so it can't get much worse than that. Kewell, if he manages 20 league games, will outscore last year. In addition, we've got Mascherano. While not a great goalscoring threat, he can release other players and make the formation more attacking. Before signing him we generally played a 'double pivot' of Sissoko and Alonso. Now against weaker opposition we could play Masch as sole holding player with Gerrard ahead of him in the centre, or against stronger teams push Alonso further forward.

Defence - this is the season that Carragher will come to the fore - 10 league goals easy Wink

Haha...Well my prediction is way off, at current rate Keane will be our top scorer due to him starting nearly EVERY match and Jol feud with Defoe....

We will score goals and perhaps more than last season, but its at the other end of the field that I am worried about...

    I agree with that <Ale>
What was it Lulu, 12 goals for Kuyt in the EPL last season, I don't think he'll come close to double figures let alone equally his tally last year.

I can see Babel becoming our 3rd striker next year if not 2nd depending on Rafa buys. Hopefully that young lad we knicked from Barca cheers Daniel Pacheco will get his chance as does that other Dutch lad who is scoring for fun in the reserves
