It's a very strong team, I'm surprised Hyypia is in for Agger but other than that it's what I hoped for and expected! come on you reds!

Sunderland: Gordon; Halford, Nosworthy, McShane, Wallace; Miller, Etuhu, Yorke, Richardson; Chopra, Murphy.

Subs: Itandje, Agger, Riise, Kuyt, Mascherano.

Got to feel for Benayoun and Crouchy at the moment!

No Crouch, Benayoun, Gerrard, Kewell, Lucas, Leto, Aurelio etc

mascherano... probably the best defensive midfielder in the world cannot even get a start at the minute


chopra against hyypia is the biggest worry today

and it'll be interesting to see how we cope without gerrard who has been the main reason for us starting so well

Alonso and Masch are too similiar to play together, Sissoko adds that battle into the midfield we will need today against a Roy Keanes Sunderland.

What, seriously? I was at V last week so missed Chelsea. I can't remember who played for you at Villa even though I watched it.

I worry about that too... theres got to be so many unhappy faces in that dressing room.


Babel and Pennant should really step up their game to make up for Gerrard's absence me thinks.

Well i can tell you've not watch much of him, as a young player he has so much positional sense, fabulous technique and energy...

Lets face it, full backs are not the most famous of positions...

purely because we didn't have a right winger good enough though

it was a case of getting the best players on the pitch in any way possible and gerrard, alonso and mascha are our best midfielders

it had no relation at all with gerrard and alonso not being able to function together


but thankfully pennant is finally looking the part
